Literally the best flat iron I have used to date. The heat is always consistent no matter if my hair is wet or dry. I love how it heats up and beeps as soon as its ready in 30 seconds or so. I only have to spend one pass in each section.
“Being a mom of two, it’s hard to have time to get my hair done, but with this, I do my hair in 30 minutes, rather than over an hour. I haven’t bought a new straightener in probably four years, and I bought this with very little expectations. OMG! First of all, not only did it take half the time to do my hair, but it left my hair as amazing as I always wanted it! Super silky-smooth. I then used it to make some curls on my 8-year-old. In less than 15 minutes, I was done with her hair and she was in love with the curls.”
True ghd product gets hot as soon as you turn it on. My fianc absolutely loves it. I will definitely continue to use amazon in the future.
Honestly the best straightener I've used. I have had many many many straighteners from cheap 30 ones to pricey 100 ones and this ghd is my favorite by far. One of the best things is that is has an automatic shut off. I can't tell you how many times I worried all day at work because I thought I might have left my hair straightener that heats up over 350 degrees on. I love that this one shuts off maybe a little too soon but still not complaining it's a great feature and not one my other pricey straightener offers. That being said this straightener is also works fantastically. It heats up very quickly and then glides evenly and smoothly for perfectly straight smooth hair. My hair is very thick with a slight wave especially in the back I was pleasantly surprised at what a good job this straightener does on my hair I don't have to go back and re do any sections and with a little product my style holds all day. I didn't think there would be that much difference between the ghb and my other pricier straightener but there is and I am not a ghb girl all the way
great quality fast shipping

I really love my ghd flat iron I am a hairstylist and this iron cuts down on my styling time as well the amount of heat that I have to apply to the hair one pass usually does it. My clients are also very happy with how soft and full of body the flat iron leaves their hair. I wish I had purchased this flat iron much sooner
Perukes or periwigs for men were introduced into the English-speaking world with other French styles when Charles II was restored to the throne in 1660, following a lengthy exile in France. These wigs were shoulder-length or longer, imitating the long hair that had become fashionable among men since the 1620s. Their use soon became popular in the English court. The London diarist Samuel Pepys recorded the day in 1665 that a barber had shaved his head and that he tried on his new periwig for the first time, but in a year of plague he was uneasy about wearing it:
I bought a ghd in london while traveling. I couldn't love a hair straightener more. It heats up so quickly and is universal voltage so you can use it anywhere in the world. I've had mine for over a year and use it almost every day. Don't mind the price it is worth it
From the time of the Roman Empire until the Middle Ages, most women grew their hair as long as it would naturally grow. It was normally little styled by cutting, as women's hair was tied up on the head and covered on most occasions when outside the home with a snood, kerchief or veil; for an adult woman to wear uncovered and loose hair in the street was often restricted to prostitutes. Braiding and tying the hair was common. In the 16th century, women began to wear their hair in extremely ornate styles, often decorated with pearls, precious stones, ribbons and veils. Women used a technique called "lacing" or "taping," in which cords or ribbons were used to bind the hair around their heads. During this period, most of the hair was braided and hidden under wimples, veils or couvrechefs. In the later half of the 15th century and on into the 16th century a very high hairline on the forehead was considered attractive, and wealthy women frequently plucked out hair at their temples and the napes of their necks, or used depilatory cream to remove it, if it would otherwise be visible at the edges of their hair coverings. Working-class women in this period wore their hair in simple styles.
An upgrade from their since discontinued Eclipse Styler, you won't be tempted to heat this flatiron up to 450 degrees, because the temperature dial is always stuck on one number: 365 (the ideal heat to mold hair without frying it, according to the scientists at GHD). Underneath each of those 365-degree plates are three fancy sensors that measure the density of the hair in the iron so that it can maintain consistent heat regardless of the chunk of hair you grab. The result? Silky, shiny hair with zero frizz.
The 9-foot power cord means you never have to worry how far away the outlet is from where you’ll be styling your hair. It is more expensive than some of our other picks but it’s not as expensive as the BabylissPRO. However, it doesn’t have an automatic shut off feature and the temperature range only reaches 410 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, there have been reports from users that their HAI Classic only lasted a year or two.
Count on Kristin Ess to bless us with high-performance hair tools that are super affordable and good lookin', too. Crafted from two titanium plates to deliver heat fast and evenly, Ess's flatiron reaches temperatures up to 440 degrees, has shine-boosting technology, and shuts off automatically. So you can forget ever having to wonder if your flatiron is still on after you've left the house.
During the 1920s and 1930s, Japanese women began wearing their hair in a style called mimi-kakushi (literally, "ear hiding"), in which hair was pulled back to cover the ears and tied into a bun at the nape of the neck. Waved or curled hair became increasingly popular for Japanese women throughout this period, and permanent waves, though controversial, were extremely popular. Bobbed hair also became more popular for Japanese women, mainly among actresses and moga, or "cut-hair girls," young Japanese women who followed Westernized fashions and lifestyles in the 1920s.
Just because you were blessed with a head of naturally straight hair, doesn’t mean hair straighteners aren’t for you! Hair straighteners are a great way to style the split ends that are all too common with straight hair types and can also give your hair a natural-looking curve for added volume! When shopping for the best hair straightener for your naturally straight hair, you will want to look for the following:
The ability to create bouncy curls or waves with a flat iron (we know, it seems counter-intuitive!) is a biggie in the beauty industry and merits a bit more discussion. If you’re totally lost and there aren’t enough video tutorials on the planet to explain this weird yet awesome process, don’t worry! Just follow along with our step-by-step guide and you will be curling with the best of them in no time!
my first ghd and I love it it take 2 second to heat up which is great because I'm always running late. It also gets a lot hotter then my old chi. The most important thing is the auto shut off. My mom leave the house 3 hours before I do most days and she would always forget to turn off the straightener now after 30 mins. It turns off and it beeps every 5 mins to tell me to turn off the switch. I don't worry about the house burning down. I also love how fast my hair is straightened. I also go this a sophora for 185.00 but knew to check amazon first and was very happy with the price. Told all my friends to get one too
If you have ever visited a luxury spa or wellness company, you have probably run across far infrared heat a time or two. Without going into too much science, infrared heat is the same heat you feel when the sun kisses your cheeks and warms your body from the inside-out. Far infrared heat, in particular, has been used by medical and wellness professionals for years to treat a variety of conditions from muscle pain to even cancer.
My wife adores these straighteners from ghd.here first reaction was actually mild disappointment as the plates are a little smaller than she is used to but this is made up for by the straighteners being lighter and more comfortable to use.as always with ghd the presentation is excellent really playing on the limited edition colour scheme here that has a lovely icy metallic teal look.the carry case heat mat is nicely designed and practical a good example of the approach to manufacture and design here that results in a sleek but sturdy end product.
Each flat iron has its own 15-digit code on hologram which can be verified at GHD website. - One 1" ghd flat iron with cap. Smoother gold plates glide effortlessly through the hair to make straightening on all hair types and lengths even quicker and easier, while their contoured edges help to create perfect curls and waves, all with a high shine, salon-style finish.
Easy to use styler no waiting for long periods of time for it to heat. It heats within seconds.
had no problems registering. This is my second ghd styler. My first one is almost 10 years old and still works great. Had to buy a second when my daughter took my first one to college with her. These used to be super pricey back in the day but are very affordable now. Hope they are as durable and well made. Looks almost identical to my old one.
The nano ceramic plates in this straightener deliver far-infrared heat, a gentler alternative in and of itself. As if that weren't enough, there's also a reservoir where you can pour in some of the (included) argan treatment and thermal protectant, creating a conditioning steam that will strengthen and safeguard strands while you straighten. Admittedly an extra step, sure, but one that's well worth it.
Great product and fastest shipment ever
love this hair iron. Best iron I've owned aside from chi.
Love my ghd straightener. This is my 2nd one. I had the first one for years love this brand and it works great
I had this hair styler when it was first released and when mine finally died I was distraught as I could not find it, or anything like it, locally. When I finally found it on Amazon, I was so relieved! I am so happy to have this as it works great for me. My hair is short but I think your hair length is irrelevant. My hair is not curly but it has body and is a little coarse. When it rains or I am in a humid environment, it will frizz a bit. This hot air styler--which does away with the need for a separate brush--works perfectly to smooth out my hair and at the same time add volume and direction to my hair. A friend saw me using it at the beach recently and wanted to get one too. It ... full review
The Glamfields straightener, like most of our top-ranked models, releases negative ions to fight frizz while preventing split ends and knotting. Performance, though, sets it apart from the pack. Hair is straightened beautifully and quickly with the unit’s metal ceramic heater requiring just a 40-second warm-up, eliminating a long wait for the brush to reach temperature. And speaking of temperature, there are 12 heat settings ranging from 250° (ideal for brittle hair) to 450° (hot enough to straighten extremely thick or wavy hair).
After all, there are so many different hair types, short, medium and long lengths not to mention a variety of textures. Rather than ploughing through the thousands of stylers on the market I have written a short guide as to those I think will work for you. The information is extracted reviews by people just like you, with different hair types and expectations….so read on for what my recommendations are:<
The RUSK Professional Straight Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy frizz-free, kink-free, smooth, silky, straight hair. Now, this baby makes use of ceramic and tourmaline infused plates along with Sol-Gel technology which protects your hair from damage and makes your hair smooth and shiny. It’s very lightweight that you barely feel it as you use it. It gets hot pretty quickly and is really great at making curls.
arrived less than 24 hours after I had ordered it incredible delighted with my ghd's discounted because of slightly damaged box nothing wrong with the straighteners at all. Brilliant as ever amazon many thanks
I love this one had one before it broke used another for about a year glad to be back. Doesn't overheat.
4 Out of 5 for ghd am I mad well not quite. These are excellent and certainly professional level instruments. Balanced good weight easy to use except and thoroughly well designed.hairdryer is quiet ish with more than enough power and settings to deal with most types of hair and styles. All in all an absolute delight.straighteners are almost perfect this is where the the small problem lies. First of all the good bits. Solid construction good smooth plates well balanced. Now the issue the settings. I know these are probably are professional and my gripe may be invalid but the heat setting is not high enough. Could be a decision made people who use them all day but for a once a day use I'd have preferred to be able to turn the heat up.
buy it you'll like it.
My hair stylists have always used ghd straighteners on my hair and I finally broke down and bought one after using other cheaper straighteners. I have very curly hair and the ghd gets my hair silky straight with no frizz it does get a little bit of wave to it after about an hour but that may just be the humidity and heat reacting with my hair. As soon as I go back over it with the ghd it is perfectly straight again. It is authentic with the hologram sticker circuit breaker plug and ghd product registration. A great deal on a great straightener
When is a “big head” a positive instead of a negative? When the head is on a high-quality hair brush straightener, of course. This Glamfields product jumped to the top of our rankings because the Groom+Style review team simply loved the large size and shape of its rectangular brush head; it’s bigger and wider than on other straightening brushes, allowing it to grab more hair on each pass. That, plus the comb’s dense teeth, lets you get the job done more quickly, whether your hair is thick or thin, lustrous or dry.
my styler seems to be legitimate and has the shiny sticker and seems to be correct in all other ways. It does indeed work so that really is all that matters. I was given this free for an honest review. I have to say overall I like this styler. It is the perfect size for my hair as it is short and medium in thickness. The styler it self is a little heavy to hold up for long periods so just be warned about that and it rolls on my counter top. It heats up quick and works great though and I love that I can curl or straighten and it has an auto shut off in case I forget to turn it off that is the best feature to any styler in my opinion so I do not burn my house down . Also this one in particular looks very nice not that it matters for functionality but it is a pretty iron. I was able to straighten my hair in far less time than my previous straightener and it seems also I am not using nearly as much heat. So I love this styler and my only complaint is that it is a bit clunky to hold.
Physical factors include natural hair type and growth patterns, face and head shape from various angles, and overall body proportions; medical considerations may also apply. Self-image may be directed toward conforming to mainstream values (military-style crew cuts or current "fad" hairstyles such as the Dido flip), identifying with distinctively groomed subgroups (e.g., punk hair), or obeying religious dictates (e.g., Orthodox Jewish have payot, Rastafari have Dreadlocks, North India jatas, or the Sikh practice of Kesh), though this is highly contextual and a "mainstream" look in one setting may be limited to a "subgroup" in another.
If you are looking for faster results, a hair straightening brush is more appropriate – it is a hybrid between a brush and a straightening iron, used best on dried hair and effective even for the most unruly naturally curly hair. You can use the straightening brush on hair that is washed and dried, and obtain the straightening iron results with much easier and intuitive brushing move.
I was a little apprehensive about purchasing these only because previous reviews had said that their ghds appeared to have already been used on arrival. This was not the case at all when mine arrived. They came sealed in their original box plastic on the plug wire around the cable etc. They're perfect brand new fully working and the delivery was ridiculously quick too I would 100 recommend. Very happy with both the product and the service that I received.
these ghd's come in a nice gift box that looks great. The set also includes a paddle brush and two hair styling clips. Also included is a case with combined heat mat. They heat up quickly and make short work of straightening my fine long hair. The paddles are quite small and narrow in comparison to other straighteners so may take longer to use through thick or curly hair. I was pleased with the results and the smoothness lasted for several hours. The only issue I have is that the straighteners only just about fit in the case and I couldn't also squeeze in the brush and clips so not as compact for travelling.
A hairstyle, hairdo, or haircut refers to the styling of hair, usually on the human scalp. Sometimes, this could also mean an editing of facial or body hair. The fashioning of hair can be considered an aspect of personal grooming, fashion, and cosmetics, although practical, cultural, and popular considerations also influence some hairstyles. The oldest known depiction of hair braiding dates back about 30,000 years. In ancient civilizations, women's hair was often elaborately and carefully dressed in special ways. In Imperial Rome, women wore their hair in complicated styles. From the time of the Roman Empire until the Middle Ages, most women grew their hair as long as it would naturally grow. During the Roman Empire as well as in the 16th century in the western world, women began to wear their hair in extremely ornate styles. In the later half of the 15th century and on into the 16th century a very high hairline on the forehead was considered attractive. During the 15th and 16th centuries, European men wore their hair cropped no longer than shoulder-length. In the early 17th century male hairstyles grew longer, with waves or curls being considered desirable.
Couldn't survive without my ghds recommended to all who want straight hair
You are definitely paying for quality.have been using ghds since 2006 older models and have never looked back. Quality is superb and definitely delivers great results.can easily last 10 years
– We have not tried the GDH straighteners, and while they look like a very professional and high-quality product, they seem very fully priced, and do not seem to have a temperature control option, which might be very helpful on your daughter’s hair. You can read some flat iron options via the link below, and I would suggest that something like the Remington S9500PP Pearl Pro Ceramic Flat Iron might be an economical option. It has a 1 inch plate (thinner is good to start with for younger hair), is reasonably priced and has good temperature control.
With so many models and styles to choose from, it can be hard to find the right hair straightener for your medium or long hair. That’s why we love the Cloud Nine Original Flat Iron! This straightener is ideal for users with medium to long hair; this hair straightener can tame even the most stubborn tresses. Featuring 1-inch plates and low, medium, and high heat settings, this flat iron is ideal for anyone with thick or lengthy hair.
If you are unsure what exactly your hair type is (or if it has changed over the years, which happens more often than you’d think!), check out this incredible overview by the hair professionals at Redken! Don’t stress if you have combination hair (i.e., fine and curly or thin and straight) either; we recommend choosing a hair straightener based on your biggest hair complaint and focusing on that problem first. So, if your curls are driving your nuts, you will want to select a hair straightener with higher temperatures, thin hair needs moisture, etc. You’ll find that your entire hair type can usually benefit from the extra TLC!
In short YES! You absolutely can use too much heat on your hair. Burning hair is not a good smell, it’s not a good look either! You may end up having to get a pretty severe haircut if you’re not careful about the amount of heat you put directly on your locks. Read through this to get an idea of what’s safe and what will leave you wishing for a good trim (or possibly a wig).
This set oozes quality. First of all it comes in a very classy custom box sealed with a removable band and housing the hairdryer and styler beautifully. The dryer and styler are the first thing you see when you open the black and gold magnetically clasped box and the protective mat instructions and styler cover are underneath the packaging. It all looks top quality and would be a brilliant gift idea.the dryer has a good weight and excellent build quality and isn’t that loud thankfully. Also the heat is only really felt as you draw the dryer nearer the hair so if you back it away it feels significantly cooler. It dries beautifully powerfully and directionally if you use the removable nozzle. There is the obligatory ring to hang it from and it doesn’t seem to get hot. My only slight criticism is the order of the control buttons. The heat settings are the top switch on the handle and the power is underneath which means having to manoeuvre it a bit to turn it off. Personally i’d have switched these around as I don’t often change the heat setting but I do turn it on and off a lot.the styler is the same excellent build quality as the dryer and comes with a neat cover to slip over the ends to keep them together when not in use. They are what you might expect from ghd a quality item that feels great to use and looks fabulous.if you want a quality dryer and styler set to give as a gift or you just really want to really spoil yourself with a bit of styling luxury this is the kit to buy. Love it
Loves how fast it heats up and great on long hair
Love ghd this was the cheapest price if your shopping around
This straightener heats up cools down very rapidly. It's light and easy to use. Doesn't singe your hair. The delivery was very quick too. Highly recommend this ghd straightener.
With this CHI original flat iron, you can get not only straight silky hair but also all kinds of curls, flips, and waves. It features 1-inch wide floating ceramic plates and uses far infrared technology to reduce frizz and static electricity. This straightener heats up to 392°F, and you can’t adjust the temperature. So, this is a flat iron for normal or thick hair, not for fine and fragile one. The heat is evenly distributed, and an exceptionally high amount of negative ions are produced. Finally, the design is basic, yet neat and ergonomic.
was christmas gift for sister.
I was able to register my ghd straightener on the official site. This was an excellent replacement when my ghd straightener that I had for 7 years finally gave out.
I was in the market for a new straightener and when I was watching videos and reading reviews of this straightener it seemed like one I would want but I couldn't find it for a really reasonable price. Then I looked at amazon and found it for about 110 that was a great deal. So I bought it and it came really fast. It also came in a really cool box. I haven't been using it very long so far but this straightener has proved to be so much better than my old con air infiniti. Best straightener ever
I was replacing this with my previous ghd which I got for full price and worked great for years.. Though I was a bit skeptical after reading the reviews but couldn't resist because of the price.. I checked the product the minute I got it and went online and found out I got the original..
Think of this as an updated version of your regular hairbrush. Its double negative ion technology gives your hair that glass-like shine without any static whatsoever. Its ceramic bristles with nylon cool-tips help keep damage to a minimum by releasing far-infrared heat — in a mere moment, it penetrates the outer layer of the hair cuticle and heats it from the inside out.
Ghd it's just the right size and feel and it can get at even the small hairs.arrived on time. No problems till date.
