as a hairstylist I'm picky about my tools. Read great reviews on this flat iron and it was on a sale. Came in a gorgeous box the tool itself is sleek and slim. Great design. Heats up in 15 seconds. Perfect grip. Love it
My first ghds and I would highly recommend them they heat up in seconds and my hair stays straight for days.
love it highly recommended and will buy again if need be. I've tried other flat irons and this one seems to work best for my wavy frizzy hair.

wow purchased to replace existing ghd straighteners but these are even better.

I love this flat iron. My hair is smooth and health.
The VAV hair straightener heats up in about 30 seconds, and you can select the required level of heat from 284°F to 446°F. The buttons are placed in between the plates, so it may be a little inconvenient to adjust the temperature. The current heat level is shown on the LED display. This flat iron can be used for both straightening and curling due to its thin plates.
perfection is the word to describe the ghd classic styler...it's easy to use and the hair style last longer than by using other regular stylers sold on the market...once you try it you will see the difference right away.
I was very nervous after reading all the reviews I got this professional original 1 inch ghd straightener and ordered from amazon it was sold directly from amazon which I heard was the best way to go. I heard do not buy from 3 party seller. Anyway... Received it in the mail bought it for 110 including shipping and tax cyber monday sale so so happy. I registered it right away on ghd official site and got an email telling me it was real and registered. I love it it works amazing and everyone compliments on my hair. I couldn't be happier. Get it get it get it. Get one that is sold directly by amazon would be my best recommendation.
recommended by my hair stylist. Was planning to order regular model but professional model was on sale. Heats up very quickly. Works great. I have curly hair but no on knows

Ordered on 15 dec 2016 got it today warrenty garanteed and validated 18 dec2016 for 2 years

The plate is the part of the hair straightener that heats up and used to press your hair. Now, hair straighteners come in different plate materials and sizes. Most plates have a width of 1 inch which work for most people and that’s perfectly fine. However, to really get the most out of your flat iron, you’ll need to consider your hair and styling needs when deciding plate size.

When shopping for the best hair straightener for your unique hair type, it can be difficult to decipher all of the different styles and specs. That’s why we’ve done the hard work for you and created this all-inclusive guide to finding the best hair straightener for your unique head o’ hair, so you can spend less time scrolling through pages of products and more time rocking your new dream ‘do!
the best straightener I've had and I've had a ton. I also have thick frizzy hair and it tames it so well
Sleek, shiny hair exudes polish and put-togetherness. It's like smooth strands just have a way of making you feel way more on top of your game than you may actually be — especially during the end-of-year rush, filled with work deadlines, holiday events, and everything in between. But before you spend more than you'd like this season on salon blowouts or that expensive flat iron you've been eyeing, know that getting glossy locks is possible without totally blowing your budget. Just snag yourself one of the best cheap straighteners the next time you're stocking up at some of your most-frequented stores.
You can't beat a real pair of ghds well that's the wifes happy for a bit at least she's over the moon thinks they are the best ever and they make her hair feel nice. What more do you want.
I have been using straighteners for a number of years but not until now have I found the best yet... They are very kind to my hair and make a huge difference... I will always use ghd's from here on in.
Hi do you have any views / recommendations on cordless or portable hot air brushes? I just bought a rotating hot air brush and love it as its easy to straighten and defrizz my hair while adding a bit of volume (I use it on slightly damp hair) but it’s just too big to carry. I am looking for an easy to carry hot brush that I can pop in my gym bag to help me finish off styling my hair after I rough dry my hair with the hairdryer at the gym. Thank you.
You need to make sure that your flat iron is very light, feeling comfortable in your hand as you style your hair. You’ll also want it to have a tangle-free cord because that’s just a hassle you don’t want to have when you’re focusing on doing your ‘do right. Or, you can just go for a cordless hair straightener to get rid of that potential problem altogether.
The GVP Digital Ceramic 1-inch Styling Iron made it on our list because it heats up quickly, doesn’t snag or pull your hair, and features a digital display that you rarely see in models at this price point. The temperature settings range from 160 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. You can change heat settings in 10-degree increments. You can easily check the display to see whether the plates have reached your desired temperature because the display is in real time. It comes with a 9-foot long cord so you can plug it far away from a mirror if necessary.
If you are looking for volume for your fine hair then I would recommend the Vidal Sassoon VSHA6471UK which is a superb hot air styler.  Designed especially to give lift and volume from the root it will give you enviable curls and waves.  It is supplied with two brush sizes 19mm and 25mm so it’s ideal for shorter styles too (use the smaller brush) and gives a pleasing smooth finish that is tangle free.  You cannot fault the price either, on Amazon.co.uk this retails below the price of a salon blow-out.
these are great. They’ve kept my hair straight the whole day. The best straightners i’ve ever had.

T3’s white and rose gold flat iron seems too pretty to reliably function, but hey, sometimes miracles happen. There are four temperature settings ranging from 260 to 410 degrees, and the tool heats up in about a minute. Its ceramic plates are infused with tourmaline, a mineral said to make hair extra smooth because it emits negatively-charged ions. There’s no scientific evidence to support this, but my unscientific bathroom study found that this flat iron does indeed make my hair look shinier.

I had been eyeing this styler for a while and as much as I would've liked to save up to a 100 purchasing it here my peace of mind was worth the 60 80 dollar difference. This an expensive professional item that would not grant its 2 year guarantee if purchased from a non official distributor. I purchased from sephora and I'm incredibly happy with the product. It provides salon quality results so I see it as an investment instead of splurge. But if you're concerned both about the legitimacy as well as as the guarantee coverage of this product when purchasing from third party vendors like I was go ahead and spend the extra money. It might save you a lot of headaches and money in the end.
Since the 1970s, women have worn their hair in a wide variety of fairly natural styles. In the 1980s, women pulled back their hair with scrunchies, stretchy ponytail holders made from cloth over fabric bands. Women also often wear glittery ornaments today, as well as claw-style barrettes used to secure ponytails and other upswept or partially upswept hairstyles.[14] Today, women and men can choose from a broad range of hairstyles, but they are still expected to wear their hair in ways that conform to gender norms: in much of the world, men with long hair and women whose hair doesn't appear carefully groomed may face various forms of discrimination, including harassment, social shaming or workplace discrimination.[35] This is somewhat less true of African-American men, who wear their hair in a variety of styles that overlap with those of African-American women, including box braids and cornrows fastened with rubber bands and dreadlocks.[36]
I was weary about buying this flat iron I was afraid it was a fake . My fingers were crossed while entering my codes and it said you are the chosen one . I did not purchase mine straight from amazon just one of the sellers on amazon.
When taming coarse, wavy or curly hair, sometimes you need a little to kick it up a notch. That’s why we love that the CHI G2 Ceramic and Titanium Flat Iron can reach a maximum temperature of 425° F and heats up in under a minute! With this hair straightener, say goodbye to wasted time waiting for your tool to heat up, and get styled and out in the door!

My daughter has long hair and loves the effects of the ghd styler. She even uses it to put waves in her hair.
Here at the Strategist, we like to think of ourselves as crazy (in the good way) about the stuff we buy (like pillows), but as much as we’d like to, we can’t try everything. Which is why we have People’s Choice, in which we find the best-reviewed (that’s four-to-five-star reviews and lots of ‘em) products and single out the most convincing ones. While we’ve written about the best curling irons, hair dryers, and even a certain curling iron used on the Victoria’s Secret Angels before, we’re going deep on the best flat irons and hair straighteners on Amazon. (Note that reviews have been edited for length and clarity.)

I have curly hair and so it always took me much longer to straighten my hair. I saw my sister had this straightner and so I tried using hers and it took me about 10 min to get my hair totally straight anyways my other straightner had broke so I bought this one and it's really really good. Would very much recommend
You can select the required heat level from 170°F to 450°F which means this hair straightener suits for all hair types. For me, this is the best straightening iron for thick curly hair.  It heats up in about 30 seconds, and the current temperature is shown on the LCD. This KIPOZI ion straightener comes in rose pink, and its slick design is just great.
The Cloud Nine Micro Iron is one of the best hair straighteners we have tried in a smaller size. Made with ceramic plates, the styler helps to keep your hair protected as it straightens, while their cushioned style means you can use them all on all hair types and lengths. Make sure you pack this away for your summer holiday, so your locks always look lovely.
For better or worse, we are B-U-S-Y nowadays. Running from meeting to meeting and trying to pick up our kids from carpool before soccer practice, it’s no wonder that we often place ourselves at the bottom of our daily priority list. This mindset typically carries over into our appearances and explains why more women than ever are rocking messy top knots and buns than ever before.
Curling and straightening hair requires the stylist to use a curling rod or a flat iron to get a desired look. These irons use heat to manipulate the hair into a variety of waves, curls and reversing natural curls and temporarily straightening the hair. Straightening or even curling hair can damage it due to direct heat from the iron and applying chemicals afterwards to keep its shape. There are irons that have a function to straighten or curl hair even when its damp (from showering or wetting the hair), but this requires more heat than the average iron (temperatures can range from 300–450 degrees). Heat protection sprays and hair-repairing shampoos and conditioners can protect hair from damage caused by the direct heat from the irons.
My ghds finally broke after over 10 years so bought a new set still as good as they always have been
Ask any seasoned hair stylist for a flat iron recommendation, and you will hear the same brand time and time again: CHI. Known the world over as a leader in hair care and styling, CHI is your go-to name for salon results at home. While CHI offers a variety of designs (and fun colors!) to choose from, the brand’s G2 Ceramic and Titanium model is what caught our eye when researching the best hair straightener. This hair straightener is packed with high-tech features and an upgraded, ergonomic design for the shiniest and straightest ‘do you’ve ever seen!
If you need a heavy duty flat iron for your hard-to-style, the BabylissPRO Nano Titanium-plated hair straightener should be just the thing. The width of the plates is 1 ¾ inches wide, perfect for those with longer, thicker tresses; you cover more surface area in one pass. It has LED temperature settings that reach up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. The Ryton housing ensures that you never feel the heat in your hand even when the temperature’s at maximum.

I was little concerned as some people mentioned getting fakes but this is the real deal. It is so slick that it is almost too slick the hair slide through really quickly.
love it
the ghds are what I expected but I have only had them a short time and some of the other reviews stated that they stopped working not long after they were purchased so hopefully this will not happen to me.
GHD’s “styler” is permanently set to 365 degrees Fahrenheit, which the company says is the highest temperature hair can tolerate before it becomes damaged. As a person who went from a dark brunette to blonde highlights, I can vouch for its straightening power on processed hair. And though I don’t typically think of “comfort” as a flat iron necessity, the springy hinge that connects the two plates really did make it easier to clamp and glide the tool down my hair with minimal effort.
Other factors may also be important to you, including the weight of the unit, how comfortable the handle feels in your hand, whether there is an LCD display and an automatic shut-off feature, and the length of the power cord. But remember: heat levels come first, because they determine whether your hair comes out straight, shiny and silky – or a damaged, fried mess. Everything else is secondary.
Fine or thinning hair can easily become damaged under too much heat, so cooler temperatures (i.e., those under 300° F) are ideal for these hair types. If you have very curly, course, or thick hair, then higher temperatures upwards of 400° F may be more suitable to your needs. With the ISA Professional Titanium Flat Iron, you can cool it down to 265° F if need be and also crank it up to a whopping 450° F for textured styled.
my ghd iv styler are perfect for my hair. I was thrilled with how well they worked
