Utilizing an advanced Tourmaline Ceramic system, this mini straightener produces infrared heat and negative ions to eliminate frizz, static and flyaways while sealing in moisture for glamorous, mirror-like shine. Featuring smooth floating plates and a fast heat up time, the styling tool leaves hair feeling sleek, soft and glossy with a professional looking finish.

Stylists often wash a subject's hair first, so that the hair is cut while still slightly damp. Compared to dry hair, wet hair can be easier to manage in a cut/style situation because the added weight and surface tension of the water cause the strands to stretch downward and cling together along the hair's length, holding a line and making it easier for the stylist to create a form. It is important to note that this method of cutting hair while wet, may be most suitable (or common) for straight hair types. Curly, kinky and other types of hair textures with considerable volume may benefit from cutting while dry, as the hair is in a more natural state and the hair can be cut evenly.
I was worried that the flat iron was a fake so I was really relieved when I was able to register the product on ghd's website. After years of using a cheap flat iron that I bought at cvs I decided that I would invest in a good flat iron. After turning on the flat iron you will hear a beep. You'll hear 2 beeps in about 10 seconds which indicates that the flat iron is ready to use. It warms up so quickly. It makes my hair so shiny and straight. I love it.

The Dafni is a “paddle” or “flat brush” type of hair brush straightener, while the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium is a “barrel” or rotating hair brush straighteners. In general, the “paddle” design is best if you are just after a brush to straighten your hair and the “barrel” design is best if you want to add some volume & shine, curl and style your hair (or have “very” long hair).

Straighteners work because they have flat plates that get hot and touch together on either side of your hair. By doing that, they put heat through your hair follicles, trap in moisture and take out frizz. The plates on a flat iron can be made of several different materials, and they’re good for different uses. The best iron for you varies depending on the type of hair you have, the type of styling you want to do, and the amount of heat your hair needs.

I have straight fine blonde hair and this straightener helps me get so much more sleekness and volume. It is sturdy and heats up so fast plus I love how it sleeps if you leave it on too long so that it won't burn your house down.
Great purchase
You should definitely take into account flat irons reviews, let along the price of the hair straightening iron. Most of the models in my list are pretty affordable, yet effective and of high quality. Just be aware of the fakes and be sure that you can trust the seller. And I hope hair straightener reviews will help you avoid purchasing a fake and choose the perfect styling tool.

According to hair pro Christian Wood, if you want to make sure your hair stays in the place, use the GHD gold mini styler. “I prefer a small straightener that I can get really close to the roots to remove stubborn kinks and cow licks,” says Wood. The small straightener trick is probably how he nails the beauty looks of Tessa Thompson, Emily Ratajkowski, Rosie Huntington, and Olivia Munn.
It contains tri-zone® technology, which works quickly and effectively to straighten, curl and style without compromising the health of your hair. The technology uses three sensors in each plate to ensure the optimum temperature for styling hair is consistently maintained across the entire plate from root to tip, reducing breakage and improving shine.
This straightener is amazing. Although it only has one heat setting it heats up immediately and gets the job done. It doesn't feel like it's frying my hair. I love it.
Think of this as an updated version of your regular hairbrush. Its double negative ion technology gives your hair that glass-like shine without any static whatsoever. Its ceramic bristles with nylon cool-tips help keep damage to a minimum by releasing far-infrared heat — in a mere moment, it penetrates the outer layer of the hair cuticle and heats it from the inside out.
During the 1920s and 1930s, Japanese women began wearing their hair in a style called mimi-kakushi (literally, "ear hiding"), in which hair was pulled back to cover the ears and tied into a bun at the nape of the neck. Waved or curled hair became increasingly popular for Japanese women throughout this period, and permanent waves, though controversial, were extremely popular. Bobbed hair also became more popular for Japanese women, mainly among actresses and moga, or "cut-hair girls," young Japanese women who followed Westernized fashions and lifestyles in the 1920s.[27]
love it heats up quick and does a great job.
as most ceramic ghd's this works extremely well.
This lesser-known brand made a great impression when it was available on Amazon (you can now buy it at TerresaBeauty.com), where the majority of reviewers gave it five stars. "It allows my hair to glide so smoothly through the plates, never snagging it," says one shopper. "I can straighten or curl with this straightener and it works great," says another.
I had some concern that this iron was counterfeit. I had purchased knockoff chi irons unbeknownst to me on this site before. Fortunately as I found ghd has a verification tool on their site. Take the time to register your iron there to make sure it's not a fake ... As far as the iron itself it is a sturdy quality iron that heats up lightning fast. It even has a beep to let you know it's ready to go. I especially love the 30 minute automatic shut off feature a must for forgetful people like me
The high-density bristles on the professional-style nano comb are designed to prevent curly hair from catching in the teeth. However, that also means straightening your hair can take longer than it does with the Glamsfields or AsaVea, because you may need to make more passes with the brush. Heat-up is fast (60 seconds) and the heat is evenly-distributed thanks to metal ceramic technology. The double-ionic generator works to prevent frizz and split ends.
The ability to create bouncy curls or waves with a flat iron (we know, it seems counter-intuitive!) is a biggie in the beauty industry and merits a bit more discussion. If you’re totally lost and there aren’t enough video tutorials on the planet to explain this weird yet awesome process, don’t worry! Just follow along with our step-by-step guide and you will be curling with the best of them in no time!

First, there are the temperature settings. Obviously, different hair requires a different heat level. The thicker your hair is, the higher level of heat you should apply to straighten it. I highly recommend you to read the instructions which usually say what temperature you should select for your particular hair type. This may vary a little bit from one flat iron to another. The general rule here is the less heat you apply, the better your hair condition will be. And always use a heat protectant, regardless of your hair type.

after reading review with titles like fake I was a bit nervous but took a gamble anyway. Its authentic. I also found out that ghd has outsourced the production of some of there irons to china. In fact when I went to register my iron I clicked the help link for the date code and the example label had made in china clear as day on it.on the iron amazing night and day with the old one my favorite feature is the no tangle swivel cord

after reading other reviews about people not getting an authentic ghd flat iron I contacted my niece who bought one for my sister at the retail outlet sephora and asked her to send me the sku number off the box. Once I got that I was able to look through the models available on amazon and buy one that is authentic. Other people's reviews had convinced me to make sure I was getting an authentic ghd flat iron. I am grateful to them for posting their review so I could make an informed purchase. I really like this flat iron. I had used my sister's ghd when I was visiting her last year so I already knew this was the brand for me. I have very think hair and the revlon and conair brands just weren't cuttin' it.

This flat iron stopped working less than a year after I bought it and ghd will not warranty a replacement one because Planet Beauty or Amazon is not an authorized retailer for their products. Buyer BEWARE....if you purchase from here it will void the manufacturer warranty and you will waste your money just like I did. Planet Beauty was NO help to me in getting my flat iron fixed or replaced!

I have very thick hair this works great. Didn't get the sale price. This is a good deal. I bought mine in 2000 and use it every day. Still working like the day I got it.
pricey yes but what can I say daughter swears by ghd's no substitute no point buying cheaper brands. If she's happy then so am i. Her second paid of ghd's in 10 years so good value.
The plates in this techy tool house an internal microchip that constantly measures and maintains an even temperature. With no random hot or cold spots, you'll get smoother, straighter, strands in fewer passes. (Spoiler alert: Fewer passes equal less damage). Adjustable temperature settings — from 260 to 410 degrees — make this ideal for any and every hair texture.
The historical dictum to brush hair with one hundred strokes every day is somewhat archaic, dating from a time when hair was washed less frequently; the brushstrokes would spread the scalp's natural oils down through the hair, creating a protective effect. Now, however, this does not apply when the natural oils have been washed off by frequent shampoos. Also, hairbrushes are now usually made with rigid plastic bristles instead of the natural boar's bristles that were once standard; the plastic bristles increase the likelihood of actually injuring the scalp and hair with excessively vigorous brushing. However, traditional brushes with boar's bristles are still commonly used among African Americans and those with coarse or kinky textures to soften and lay down curls and waves.
The nano ceramic plates in this straightener deliver far-infrared heat, a gentler alternative in and of itself. As if that weren't enough, there's also a reservoir where you can pour in some of the (included) argan treatment and thermal protectant, creating a conditioning steam that will strengthen and safeguard strands while you straighten. Admittedly an extra step, sure, but one that's well worth it.
Xtava’s two inch-wide plates are massive, making them perfect for people with thick or coarse hair. Aside from the plates, everything else about this flat iron is fairly standard. You can use it at a temperature range in between 265 and 445 degrees Fahrenheit, the plates are made with tourmaline and ceramic, and it takes less than two minutes for the tool to fully heat.
I had an older set of ghd's which lasted nearly 10 years. So I replaced them with these. Delivery was quick and the product is great. They heat up really quickly and the design is easier to hold when curling my hair.
