Nothing much to say except for this is the best investment I've ever made it leaves my hair so perfect and I love that it goes into sleep mode. Such a cool feature
So let me clear up some of the mixed reviews. When you click on the link to this straightener the ghd classic styler the item is sold by different sellers. So someone who buys today may not buy from the same place that had the straightener yesterday. Which explains why some have received fakes. Click on the seller read the reviews about them do your research.however with that being said I purchased mine from salon logistix my ghd was authentic and I was able register it with the ghd site. I straightened my hair 30 minutes ago with it and am so happy with my purchase. I have natural caucasian hair but my waves are deep and usually take a couple passes to go away. This straightener ironed them out in about 2 passes. It heats up in seconds makes little beeps when turned on and hot and never snagged my hair huge problem with my chi . I would definitely recommend this straightener I previously paid 250 for a t3 mane tamer this ghd does just as well and for less than half the price
Just received my ghd classic I inch iron looooooooove it. Love it heat up fast and the lcd light is very good feature. And it gave my hair very nice look after using it. Now just have to see how long this machine would last loving it so far
Late 17th-century wigs were very long and wavy (see George I below), but became shorter in the mid-18th century, by which time they were normally white (George II). A very common style had a single stiff curl running round the head at the end of the hair. By the late 18th century the natural hair was often powdered to achieve the impression of a short wig, tied into a small tail or "queue" behind (George III).
best flat iron I've ever had
wife loved it
I was just replacing the one I had. Great flat iron.
I had a solia flat iron that just died after about 8 years I looked to repurchase the same brand but it looks as though it no longer gets good reviews. Ugh... So after a few days of reading reviews and such I went with the ghd. I wasn't sure I would like not having control of the temperature. I have long curly frizzy hair. I usually use a higher then should temp. 400 ...anyway took a chance and really like it thus far. It doesn't get as hot as my solia but it straightens quicker how's that possible and the 1 inch makes it easy to curl my ends. Love it so far. Hopefully it lasts me as long as my solia.
buy it you'll like it.
If being limited to only a handful of temperature settings isn’t really your cup of tea, look no further than the BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium Straightening Iron! This lightweight flat iron features a whopping 50 heat settings for hair types of all shapes, styles, textures, and colors making it one of the most versatile hair straighteners on our list.

Available with either ceramic plates (good for all hair types) or titanium ones (choice for curly, thick, and coarse textures), this innovative styler features touch sensor technology that lowers the heat when it's not being used, then automatically brings it back up to temp as soon as it's touched. Translation: No more waiting for your iron to heat up in between passes. Use it for smooth and sleek styles, or take advantage of the round brush-esque attachments to create more of a bouncy blowout effect.
Users with super-thick hair have given Remington's 1" Pearl Straightener the stamp of approval on Target's website, praising it for quickly and easily smoothing strands. According to reviewers, the $24.99 tool stands up to counterparts that are more than six times the price, so you'd be hard-pressed to find a better deal out there. It has multiple heat settings, allowing you to adjust the quick-heat plates to just the right temperature to create pin-straight hair or soft curls.
it heats instantly and easy to handle. I love it

Xtava’s two inch-wide plates are massive, making them perfect for people with thick or coarse hair. Aside from the plates, everything else about this flat iron is fairly standard. You can use it at a temperature range in between 265 and 445 degrees Fahrenheit, the plates are made with tourmaline and ceramic, and it takes less than two minutes for the tool to fully heat.
I bought a ghd in london while traveling. I couldn't love a hair straightener more. It heats up so quickly and is universal voltage so you can use it anywhere in the world. I've had mine for over a year and use it almost every day. Don't mind the price it is worth it
Product just as described
I love ghd great product. Fast delivery as well.
Fast shipping. Had the chi for years and now I wouldn't go back.product works wonders would highly recommend over the chi
Great straightener

I purchased this item almost a year ago and it's still working as well as when I first bought it. Strongly recommend to someone who wants their hair to look great and wants it to last longer than the typical hair straightener.
This is the best straightener I've ever used. Absolutely worth what I spent on it. I use it as a curler as well
I received the product in time...safe and good job well donekeep the good workhighly recommend to all my friends

This is one of the best flattening irons you can buy it heats up very quickly. In fact I left it on too long as my own one takes forever to heat up and it shut itself off. So yes the automatic shut off works I actually love having the piece of mind knowing that it shuts off after 30 mins. Sometimes my 13 year old daughter will borrow my hair iron and I have to double check to make sure she didn't leave it on. Btw I have very thick coarse wavy hair and this flattening iron did a fantastic job my hair also felt very silky and not damaged. This is hands down the best flattening iron I have owned used.
If you have long hair or thick hair and want plenty of voluminous curls I would suggest checking out the Tresemme 2776U Salon Professional Volume Styler. With a grand total of 402 customer reviews this one scored 4.1 out of 5 stars overall.  The Tresemme 2776U works just as well on short and fine hair (just use the heat setting on one).  Additionally, it is lightweight so makes a good travel companion.  Easy to use and works well getting to the back of the head – as an example, one review states that chin length hair thick and wavy hair can be dry in around 10 minutes with plenty of volume and shine.

ghd quality is well known in the beauty industry and is reflected in this styler. It works better than any other my wife has used. Sure the less expensive ones work just not as quickly and typically others do not work anywhere in the world this one does. I ordered it gift wrapped and so pleased I did not only was the box and wrapping suburb but disguised the contents resulting in a big surprise on christmas day. It was recommended to us from a close friend and I recommend it to you too.
was christmas gift for sister.
Cannot get better than the ghd's. Excellent buy for my daughter. Bought the protective treatment aswell for the hair. I wouldn't purchase any other type of straightener.
From the time of the Roman Empire[citation needed] until the Middle Ages, most women grew their hair as long as it would naturally grow. It was normally little styled by cutting, as women's hair was tied up on the head and covered on most occasions when outside the home with a snood, kerchief or veil; for an adult woman to wear uncovered and loose hair in the street was often restricted to prostitutes. Braiding and tying the hair was common. In the 16th century, women began to wear their hair in extremely ornate styles, often decorated with pearls, precious stones, ribbons and veils. Women used a technique called "lacing" or "taping," in which cords or ribbons were used to bind the hair around their heads.[14] During this period, most of the hair was braided and hidden under wimples, veils or couvrechefs. In the later half of the 15th century and on into the 16th century a very high hairline on the forehead was considered attractive, and wealthy women frequently plucked out hair at their temples and the napes of their necks, or used depilatory cream to remove it, if it would otherwise be visible at the edges of their hair coverings.[15] Working-class women in this period wore their hair in simple styles.[14]
Styling products aside from shampoo and conditioner are many and varied. Leave-in conditioner, conditioning treatments, mousse, gels, lotions, waxes, creams, clays, serums, oils, and sprays are used to change the texture or shape of the hair, or to hold it in place in a certain style. Applied properly, most styling products will not damage the hair apart from drying it out; most styling products contain alcohols, which can dissolve oils. Many hair products contain chemicals which can cause build-up, resulting in dull hair or a change in perceived texture.
“I’m a licensed hairdresser and I’ve used many hair straighteners, including Chi and Paul Mitchell. They work, but my hair is so thick that it takes me at least 30 to 40 minutes to properly smooth my hair. This is the absolute best hair straightener I have ever used. It straightened my hair in ten minutes (no joke). I’m extremely pleased and shocked. Looking to purchase a second one to have on hand for the future.”

Works good nice lil hello beep when it's turned on. Solid even sufficient heat but not scalding. Glides through the hair smoothly with a good feel. Features automatic shut off and extra long 9 ft cord too.high quality flat iron all around. Will update in a few months to report on it's durability after regular use.
wife said this is the best

the order came quickly and as I live in france I found the plug system smart the straightener does wonders in very little time even though I have long hair I no longer need a brush and either a third hand to hold the mirror while doing my hair at the back of my head or twist my head and hands so as to hold brush plus hair dryer to do the back. I just hold a mirror in one hand stand back to the mirror and with the other hand hold the ghd which I just keep passing through my hair until it looks silky. A marvel thanks ghd
The plate is the part of the hair straightener that heats up and used to press your hair. Now, hair straighteners come in different plate materials and sizes. Most plates have a width of 1 inch which work for most people and that’s perfectly fine. However, to really get the most out of your flat iron, you’ll need to consider your hair and styling needs when deciding plate size.
Can't fault ghd's
This is so much better than the drugstore purchased flat iron that I've been using. The ghd classic 1 inch styler heats up fast and maintains the perfect temperature while styling my hair. The extra long cord 9 feet is something that I'm going to have to get used to but I do see how it would be perfect for professional stylists to use in salons. The ceramic plates come together perfectly and there's even a little extra give when I squeeze them over my hair. I appreciate that this has a reset button on the plug to keep the user from getting shocked while using. I even loved how this arrived in a beautiful box. My hair looks great and I am looking forward to using this for years to come.
For the last 12 years I've been saying I don't need ghd's my hair is straight already. And my 20 cheap straightens work just as well bough these during the prime day sale. And I can't believe I've lived all this time with out them. So smooth. And been able to make styles I've only dreamed of before.
In the 1800s, American women started wearing their hair up when they became ready to get married. Among the Fulani people of west Africa, unmarried women wear their hair ornamented with small amber beads and coins, while married women wear large amber ornaments. Marriage is signified among the Toposa women of South Sudan by wearing the hair in many small pigtails. Unmarried Hopi women have traditionally worn a "butterfly" hairstyle characterized by a twist or whorl of hair at each side of the face.[42]
I was not expecting this kind of straightener from ghd. Complete waste of money. Cheap quality straightener.
If you are unsure what exactly your hair type is (or if it has changed over the years, which happens more often than you’d think!), check out this incredible overview by the hair professionals at Redken! Don’t stress if you have combination hair (i.e., fine and curly or thin and straight) either; we recommend choosing a hair straightener based on your biggest hair complaint and focusing on that problem first. So, if your curls are driving your nuts, you will want to select a hair straightener with higher temperatures, thin hair needs moisture, etc. You’ll find that your entire hair type can usually benefit from the extra TLC!

Good product supplied with wrong power lead doesn't suit australian power socket it even has instructions that it's not to be sold anywhere other than north america. I had to buy a adapter to use this product
During the First World War, women around the world started to shift to shorter hairstyles that were easier to manage. In the 1920s women started for the first time to bob, shingle and crop their hair, often covering it with small head-hugging cloche hats. In Korea, the bob was called tanbal.[28] Women began marcelling their hair, creating deep waves in it using heated scissor irons. Durable permanent waving became popular also in this period:[29] it was an expensive, uncomfortable and time-consuming process, in which the hair was put in curlers and inserted into a steam or dry heat machine. During the 1930s women began to wear their hair slightly longer, in pageboys, bobs or waves and curls.[13]

Great product and fastest shipment ever
There are less expensive stylers but if you use one everyday you want one that works very well.this one works great. It's well built to begin with. The grip is easy to hold and it springs open when you aren't clamping it. There's a very long 9 foot cord and unlike any others I've seen it connects to the styler with a swivel. That makes it easy to maneuver especially for styling someone else's hair if you need to walk around them and go at it from all sides. The other thing that makes this extremely useful is how quickly it heats up and is ready to go. Turn it on and it beeps and then in under half a minute it beeps again twice signaling it is ready.you can straighten hair very quickly and it does an impressive job. Curling is easy too whether you go for tight curls or wavy hair.if you leave it sitting and forget to turn it off it shuts off automatically after half an hour. I almost think that it would be better to shut off after 15 minutes inactive. Given how quickly it heats up that wouldn't be a bother if you happened to step away too long inadvertently. Easy to use built to last and built safe this heats up quickly and does a good job.

Hair in religion also plays an important role since women and men, when deciding to dedicate their life to faith, often change their haircut. Catholic nuns often cut their hair very short, and men who joined Catholic monastic orders in the eighth century adopted what was known as the tonsure, which involved shaving the tops of their heads and leaving a ring of hair around the bald crown.[39] Many Buddhists, Hajj pilgrims and Vaisnavas, especially members of the Hare Krishna movement who are brahmacharis or sannyasis, shave their heads. Some Hindu and most Buddhist monks and nuns shave their heads upon entering their order, and Korean Buddhist monks and nuns have their heads shaved every 15 days.[41] Adherents of Sikhism are required to wear their hair unshorn. Women usually wear it in a braid or a bun and men cover it with a turban.[citation needed]
Ever since the early 2000’s when the planet collectively decided that straightening our hair to death was a good idea, beauty companies have been searching for a way to achieve beautiful and natural-looking straight looks without frying or unnecessary damage. From ceramic plates to protective sprays and everything in between, we have been desperately searching for some way, any way, to show off a straight head of hair that isn’t entirely made of straw.

I've had this straightener for a few years now and it still works just as well as the day I got it. I've even had professional hair stylists tell me that this straightener is the best. It is a little pricey but definitely worth it because you won't be buying a new one for a very long time.

Best flat iron ever.....gets very hot
When taming coarse, wavy or curly hair, sometimes you need a little to kick it up a notch. That’s why we love that the CHI G2 Ceramic and Titanium Flat Iron can reach a maximum temperature of 425° F and heats up in under a minute! With this hair straightener, say goodbye to wasted time waiting for your tool to heat up, and get styled and out in the door!
I love this styler. Use it daily it heats up literally in seconds straightens my super thick frizzy hair very fast and as of yet has not caused noticeable damage. I absolutely think it's worth the money. Also I was able to register my product it was a genuine ghd.
great price on this straightener. I was able to register this on ghd site online with no problem. Heats up lightning fast.
wife's happy

just received these as my first ghds and I'm amazed just how fantastic they are. They've straightened my shoulder length hair so quickly and better than any others I have tried. If you're thinking about getting these do it you won't regret it.
Straighten, wave, or curl all hair types with less breakage, more color integrity, and more shine. Ghd’s breakthrough, innovative styler in white delivers maximum impact with minimum damage thanks to patented tri-zone technology. Six intelligent sensors guarantee the optimum styling temperature of 365°F across the plates for healthy-looking hair. It maintains heat evenly from root to tip, locking in moisture for lustrous, long-lasting results. Precision-milled, floating one-inch plates with a high-gloss finish glide effortlessly through hair for rapid styling and radiant shine. The ergonomically upgraded, rounded edges let you straighten, curl, or wave in a stroke—with one-pass styling and a 20-second heat-up time that allows you to finish faster. For ultimate control, a unique wishbone hinge calibrates pressure so plates caress hair lightly instead of tightly. The ultra-versatile tool creates an array of head-turning styles without turning up the heat.
When it comes to straightening, the hair color doesn’t matter so much. Its thickness and health are way more important. If you have such a question, you may be one of the girls out there who have African American hair or Asian hair. Your hair is probably dense, thick, and hard to tame. For styling it, you need a flat iron that can maintain high temperatures. Other features depend on your hair length and health.

You need to make sure that your flat iron is very light, feeling comfortable in your hand as you style your hair. You’ll also want it to have a tangle-free cord because that’s just a hassle you don’t want to have when you’re focusing on doing your ‘do right. Or, you can just go for a cordless hair straightener to get rid of that potential problem altogether.

The amazing number one selling hot air styler the Babyliss 2777U Big Hair Rotating Styler does everything for you except wash your hair!  The rotating mechanism changes direction from clockwise to anti-clockwise meaning your hair is soon a mass of beautiful tumbling curls bringing salon style results to your home.Developed with ionic technology, it has the ability to produce great shine and lustre to even the dullest of hair and it has 2 speed settings plus a cool shot as well as 2 heat settings.  I believe this to be an all over winner (I have one) but it is not suitable for shorter hair styles.  It sells at a discount on Amazon.co.uk and is well worth the investment.  Out of 782 reviews, 544 users gave it 5 stars and 117 users 4 stars.  It’s a winner!
This flat iron features 1-inch wide ceramic plates with titanium coating, and I love its slick and neat purple design. The Remington straightener heats up in about 30 seconds, and it has 6 heat settings from 310°F to 410°F, so this flat iron works pretty well even for African-American hair. The digital controls with LCD screen make it easy to adjust the right temperature for your hair type. The only thing is, the buttons are on the side, so you may accidentally push them while using the device.

I started this site after I made the decision to get a new hair straightener. I am not a novice with irons by any means, and I’ve had just about every kind imaginable except for some of the newest options. When I realized how far the industry had come in the last couple of years, I decided it was time to try something new. A good flat iron can last for years, as long as you look after it and make sure you buy one that’s robust enough to take what you put it through. By doing your homework up front, you can make sure you not only get the right straightener for your locks, but you don’t end up spending an inordinate amount of money on something that doesn’t work for you. Believe me, I’ve been there!

The Glamfields straightener, like most of our top-ranked models, releases negative ions to fight frizz while preventing split ends and knotting. Performance, though, sets it apart from the pack. Hair is straightened beautifully and quickly with the unit’s metal ceramic heater requiring just a 40-second warm-up, eliminating a long wait for the brush to reach temperature. And speaking of temperature, there are 12 heat settings ranging from 250° (ideal for brittle hair) to 450° (hot enough to straighten extremely thick or wavy hair).
excellent price for ghd's. Works really well on my hair leaving it soft and gorgeous. My last pair lasted 7yrs hopefully these will last me a similar amount of time.
