my sister in laws sister is a hair dresser. I asked her advise on a flat iron and she recommended ghd. She told me more or less what it would cost and that I could easily find it on amazon. When I looked for it sure enough I found it and at a much lower price than what she stated. I bought it and have been using it ever since.
Genuine article. 6 Months on no problems second set of ghd's. They are the best.
Styling tools may include hair irons (including flat, curling, and crimping irons), hair dryers, and hair rollers. Hair dressing might also include the use of hair product to add texture, shine, curl, volume or hold to a particular style. Hairpins are also used when creating particular hairstyles. Their uses and designs vary over different cultural backgrounds.
Excellent straighteners. Best I have ever had.
as most ceramic ghd's this works extremely well.
I was little concerned as some people mentioned getting fakes but this is the real deal. It is so slick that it is almost too slick the hair slide through really quickly.
Industry giant Conair's also got an affordable flat iron with tons of positive reviews: the Infiniti Pro Rainbow Titanium Flat Iron. The straightener, typically $44.99 at Ulta but currently down to $39.99, has just under 200 top-rated reviews, lauding the tool for smoothing frizz and adding shine to strands. Plus, reviewers like that the cute, rainbow-colored plates heat up in 30 seconds or less — meaning you can get to styling in a snap.
I love it
A hairstyle, hairdo, or haircut refers to the styling of hair, usually on the human scalp. Sometimes, this could also mean an editing of facial or body hair. The fashioning of hair can be considered an aspect of personal grooming, fashion, and cosmetics, although practical, cultural, and popular considerations also influence some hairstyles.[1] The oldest known depiction of hair braiding dates back about 30,000 years. In ancient civilizations, women's hair was often elaborately and carefully dressed in special ways. In Imperial Rome, women wore their hair in complicated styles. From the time of the Roman Empire[citation needed] until the Middle Ages, most women grew their hair as long as it would naturally grow. During the Roman Empire as well as in the 16th century in the western world, women began to wear their hair in extremely ornate styles. In the later half of the 15th century and on into the 16th century a very high hairline on the forehead was considered attractive. During the 15th and 16th centuries, European men wore their hair cropped no longer than shoulder-length. In the early 17th century male hairstyles grew longer, with waves or curls being considered desirable.
These are the second pair of ghd iv stylers I have bought. Had first pair for many years and really pleased with them. Tried other makes but nothing beats ghds.
My first pair of ghd hair straighteners lasted 10 years and were in regular use so I did not hesitate in ordering another pair. The ghd iv stylers are every bit as good and definitely value for money they 'beep' when switched on and 'beep' agian when the irons are ready for use. The cord is flexible so it doesn't twist or tangle and the plates cool down quickly so can be stored away in record time. Overall I am delighted with this product and would not hesitate to recommend ghd as the 'rolls royce' of stylers.
Arrived on time product just as described this is my second pair of ghd's and I wouldn't be without them. A girls best friend. Would definitely recommend.
In summary, you will want to buy a hair brush straightener that has a lower temp range, from about 250-300° (any temps higher than that and you are likely to damage your hair – start at the lowest temp possible and work up if needed). You will also want to consider a ceramic model they will heat evenly and a bit more slowly and will not create hot spots which can damage fine hair.
great ghd styler . Very happy with them
love ghd this is a replacement to my first I got 9 years ago. It's used almost daily. It never has dried out or broken any hair. I tried another brand as I didn't want to spend so much but had to return it fried my hair and purchase this on.
so nice
after a lot of advice from friends I decided to buy a ghd style as opposed to other cheaper brands it was definitely the right decision it heats up super fast and works really well. The amazon price is fantastic and I successfully registered it on the ghd website so it must be the real thing not a fake . The only thing is you might want to buy a separate heatproof bag for this as it didn't come with one and ensure you aren't buying it from a third party but from amazon directly.
Bought this as a gift for my girlfriend. She loves it. Got it for cheaper than they sell the same one at those make up stores in the mall.
Cannot get better than the ghd's. Excellent buy for my daughter. Bought the protective treatment aswell for the hair. I wouldn't purchase any other type of straightener.
Hair straighteners come in a lot of different sizes, and that can make it more difficult to decide which one is right for you. By learning about the type of hair you have, the kind of style you want, and the amount of heat you need, you can also figure out what the best size iron for your hair is. It does make a difference for the sake of speed as well as precision. It sounds like a lot of work, but you can figure out what’s right for you by clicking here.
Other factors may also be important to you, including the weight of the unit, how comfortable the handle feels in your hand, whether there is an LCD display and an automatic shut-off feature, and the length of the power cord. But remember: heat levels come first, because they determine whether your hair comes out straight, shiny and silky – or a damaged, fried mess. Everything else is secondary.
Has the perfect heat so that it doesn't get my hair. I've used a chi for years but this is by far better. No breakage and not as many fly aways and I have very frizzy damaged hair.
great set of straighters for a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend ghds over other brands of straighters. Each set I've had have lasted around 2 years before an electrical fault caused them to stop working I'm onto my fourth pair now.
With a maximum temperature of 450° F, the BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium Straightening Iron can really pack a punch despite its otherwise small frame. One thing to note though: these heat settings are not pre-set like the CHI G2 hair straightener we also reviewed, and you will need to play around with them to find the right temperature for your hair. This shouldn’t be a problem if you have a Saturday afternoon or two to kill, but may not be ideal for users that are looking for a flat iron with pre-recorded settings.
I love this straighter its the mercedes of all straighteners. It gets hot really quickly and doesn't burn my hair. The seller is great. The shipping was quick and painless I'm very pleased
From the 16th to the 19th century, European women's hair became more visible while their hair coverings grew smaller, with both becoming more elaborate, and with hairstyles beginning to include ornamentation such as flowers, ostrich plumes, ropes of pearls, jewels, ribbons and small crafted objects such as replicas of ships and windmills.[14][21] Bound hair was felt to be symbolic of propriety: loosening one's hair was considered immodest and sexual, and sometimes was felt to have supernatural connotations.[22] Red hair was popular, particularly in England during the reign of the red-haired Elizabeth I, and women and aristocratic men used borax, saltpeter, saffron and sulfur powder to dye their hair red, making themselves nauseated and giving themselves headaches and nosebleeds.[12][23] During this period in Spain and Latin cultures, women wore lace mantillas, often worn over a high comb,[14][24] and in Buenos Aires, there developed a fashion for extremely large tortoise-shell hair combs called peinetón, which could measure up to three feet in height and width, and which are said by historians to have reflected the growing influence of France, rather than Spain, upon Argentinians.[25]
In 2001, ghd revolutionised the way women styled their hair with the launch of its first styler – a professional tool designed for salon use that could also be easily used at home. ghd has continued to be a leader and innovator in hair styling with its range of professional brushes, ghd Style styling products and the launch of its first hairdryer, ghd air™. By far this is the best flat iron I have owned. Heats up quickly and does the job. Definitely worth the money
after reading other reviews about people not getting an authentic ghd flat iron I contacted my niece who bought one for my sister at the retail outlet sephora and asked her to send me the sku number off the box. Once I got that I was able to look through the models available on amazon and buy one that is authentic. Other people's reviews had convinced me to make sure I was getting an authentic ghd flat iron. I am grateful to them for posting their review so I could make an informed purchase. I really like this flat iron. I had used my sister's ghd when I was visiting her last year so I already knew this was the brand for me. I have very think hair and the revlon and conair brands just weren't cuttin' it.
The ghd dry and style gift set contains both the ghd gold styler and ghd air hairdryer housed inside a large beautifully presented gold black gift box. Presentation is superb throughout.the smart styler has an advanced heat sensor and heats to no more than 185 c to maintain healthy hair while the round shape of the barrel is excellent for producing wavy curly or straight results. The styler hearts up in record time 25 seconds and has an automatic switch off function if they're unused after 30 minutes. There's also a protective plate included in the box for extra safety. An absolute joy to use and the plates are so smooth they glide through my hair in one sweep without tangling.the ghd air dryer is the first professional salon quality hairdryer from ghd. The shape and weight of the dryer are excellent and the design will suit either right or left handed users. There's a powerful motor inside the dryer 1800w ac which means quicker drying times and it's comfortable to move around as it's light and has a long 3m power cord. My hair tends to have a lot of static because it's so fine but this dryer is super fast and locks in moisture for excellent results. Has several power and temperature controls plus a cool shot button which gives off a blast of cool air to set curls or more ornate styles.these are both superb products and the presentation is so good they certainly have the 'wow' factor. More than happy to recommend.
I love this machine and ordering from this company was easy it arrived promptly very happy camper
I love this styler. Use it daily it heats up literally in seconds straightens my super thick frizzy hair very fast and as of yet has not caused noticeable damage. I absolutely think it's worth the money. Also I was able to register my product it was a genuine ghd.
the best straightener .. She wouldn't go without it.....its a must have in this house and friends have agreed and bought
It has ceramic plates, which work on all hair types to effectively smooth and add waves and curls, depending on your desired finish. The result is incredibly shiny and frizz-free locks, which look styled to perfection. The straighteners also have a unique hibernation mode, which means they will turn off automatically after 30 minutes, so you can be sure they can’t cause damage.
These would be an ideal christmas gift as they are presented in a smart black and gold box with a lovely black padded storage bag and heat resistant mat heatproof guard paddle brush and hair clips.once the straighteners are plugged in they will beep when turned on and then beep again after a couple of seconds when they are ready to use and it is a couple of seconds they heat up so quickly I have never used ghd’s before so all I can say is ‘you get what you pay for ‘. They heat up so quickly and they glide through your hair. There was no pulling and you don’t have to use any resistance or even go over the same piece of hair time and time again.the only negative I can think of is the price they are very expensive and there are a lot of cheaper alternatives.however I think they are definitely worth paying for.
wife loved it
Fabulous straightener
I ordered the ghd iv styler and was abit confused as to which one to order. I am happy with what I chose. It's small light and does the job wonderfully.
The titanium plates in the BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium Straightening Iron were designed to conduct high levels of heat (again, up to 450° F!) in a short amount of time. Coupled with the Nanotechnology that is packed in each plate, this hair straightener is ideal for anyone that experiences unwanted frizz or static on a regular basis! The titanium also acts as a barrier from corrosion keeping your hair straightener and precious strands free of build-up for years to come!
Whether you have particularly curly hair or thick locks, this T3 hair straightener is designed to leave you with a shiny finish in a fraction of the time of other hair straighteners on the market today. Specifically, the T3’s smart SinglePass technology maintains consistent heat throughout the entire plate to straighten all hair types with one glide.
Had to buy a new one since mine was lost in luggage. Couldn't be happier to have it back
best straightener I've ever used.
great set of 'original' ghd's... Had similar back in the 90's and I loved them then. I had them for years before they gave up then I tried various other cheaper makes of straightners as well as some of the limited edition ghd's ...none as good as my original ghd's. Noticed these at a good price and bought them in time for the christmas festivities I have no regrets love them
Straighten, wave, or curl all hair types with less breakage, more color integrity, and more shine. Ghd’s breakthrough, innovative styler in white delivers maximum impact with minimum damage thanks to patented tri-zone technology. Six intelligent sensors guarantee the optimum styling temperature of 365°F across the plates for healthy-looking hair. It maintains heat evenly from root to tip, locking in moisture for lustrous, long-lasting results. Precision-milled, floating one-inch plates with a high-gloss finish glide effortlessly through hair for rapid styling and radiant shine. The ergonomically upgraded, rounded edges let you straighten, curl, or wave in a strokewith one-pass styling and a 20-second heat-up time that allows you to finish faster. For ultimate control, a unique wishbone hinge calibrates pressure so plates caress hair lightly instead of tightly. The ultra-versatile tool creates an array of head-turning styles without turning up the heat.
I'm not usually extremely enthusiastic about appliances... Or whatever you would call this. But I love this straightener. My grandma originally bought it for me. I took it to australia and it fried and burnt out I should've known better . So I bought another one. Great for straightening my hair doesn't feel too dry and also great for curling if you just twist it around as you go down your hair.
my girlfriend has wanted some of these for ages so I got her some for christmas. Guys...if you need to buy one present for your lady then get these I couldn't have chosen better she wanted me to give this rating 5.5 stars
just received my ghd's ..i ordered them after 10pm in the evening and they arrived the following night about 7.45 can't believe how quickly they turned up as the email said they will be delivered on 7th january so I'm very happy. I like these straighteners as they really do work I started using them about 2 and a half years ago but have given my previous ones to my daughter so I decided to purchase another set for myself. I would definitely recommend them.
It’s always good hair day with this
There are many women for whom a flat iron simply isn’t the right choice; their sensitive or thin hair is quickly turned to toast by the high temperatures produced by flat irons. That’s why electric hair brush straighteners became an overnight sensation a few years ago when videos of these often odd-looking contraptions started popping up on YouTube and Facebook. Manufacturers quickly responded, and today there is a wide variety of brush straighteners to choose from.
“I wanted a straightener I could use on wet hair, since I’m usually on the go and don’t always have time to dry it. With this Wet 2 Straight Hair straightener, I was able to straighten my hair after it was towel-dried and only had to go over my hair twice for it to be completely dry. Granted, I have semi-thin hair, so it doesn’t take too much to straighten it, but with other straighteners, I would have to go over it about three or four times and couldn’t straighten it when it was wet.”
Another excellent budget hot air styler is the Remington Style and Curl Air Styler and with 9 customer reviews giving 4.7 out of 5 stars I would recommend this product. This is a great on the go styler because it is lightweight so easy to pack away. It has two attachments so is suitable for medium length and shorter hair (25mm brush and 19mm brush) and has two heat and speed settings so you can set your curls and fast dry hair prior to styling. The Remington Style and Curl is good for flicks, curls and adding volume, giving a glossy, lustrous finish. Reviewers like the fact that it can be used on damp as well as dry hair and all say that it works a dream.
I love these my first real ghd styler it really is better than all the rest
