My very first GHD styler. I purchased this before cosmetology school and it worked for my extremely coarse hair. I used it quite often on myself and when I enrolled I used my GHD on my clients and it’s honestly top quality for a brand that’s accessible to at home use. I found this flatiron more consistent than the professional irons in my cosmetology kit.
As far as we’re concerned, this is the best hair straightener we’ve tried. Not only does it heat up in record time (only 30 seconds until it hits 365°F), it’s also been lauded for its frizz fighting capabilities—as mentioned above, a must down South. What’s more, it lasts. One editor’s trusty Classic Styler is still going strong after 4 years of almost daily use.

Staying true to its name, a good hair day is guaranteed with the use of ghd products. From the iconic ghd straighteners and ghd stylers, which continue to be a cult must-have for women in search of beautiful hair, to the ghd hairdryers which promise salon style in half the time, ghd products combine style with styling, making sure your dresser looks as chic as your hair.

For curling, place a section of hair between the plates closest to the scalp, clamp the plates, and turn styler through 180 degrees while holding the end of the strand. Pull styler through the hair slowly, always maintaining the 180 degree turn--it helps to slightly tip the nose of the styler downward, careful not to let the hair fall out. It also helps to pull the strand forward when trying to curl hair at the back of the head.
Like all ghds, the IV heats to 185 degrees, which is perfect for creating a poker straight finish, glamorous curls or beachy waves. The floating aluminium plates make the styler easier to hold and control, while also ensuring those tell-tale dents in the hair are a thing of the past. Other features of the IV Styler include a 2.7 metre cable, an automatic shut down after 30 minutes, and universal voltage.
I'm a journalism grad and avid makeup fan with an unhealthy addiction to buying nude lipsticks, no matter how similar they all may seem. I love chatting to anyone who will listen about my new favourite products, skincare dos and don'ts and practically any other beauty-related topic under the sun. That doesn't mean I'm frivolous with my recommendations, though--you can count on me to give you the nitty gritty on all your wishlist products. In my spare time, you'll find me binge-watching old episodes of Gilmore Girls or at brunch with a large iced coffee in my hand.
This overpriced iron is good if you have naturally fine, soft or wavy hair. If you have coarse, thick hair it will not do the job, or it will take you several passes. This is not unique to the GHD, this applies to ALL CERAMIC straighteners. The Auto shut off and dual voltage is awesome, but it is not worth it if the iron does not provide sleek, durable straight hair. If you have kinky, unruly, poofy hair go with TItanium, hand down!!
I'm absolutely in love with my GHD.I will never buy another brand again. It heats up super quick, glides through the hair like silk and takes alot less time as with previous straightners i've had to go over the same strand a few times and it left my hair frizzy/flyaway and meant i had to use products to smooth it down! I dont really need to use any products except hot iron spray or cream protectant and a tiny amount of serum afterwards. The GHD also curls my hair perfectly, now that ive mastered the technique ;-)

Bought these on recommendation of my hairdresser to deal with my chemo damaged hair. Thankfully I didn't lose my hair but it did go really thin during treatment. 18 months on from treatment my once fine, straight and easily managed hair has come back in thick with random curly and wavy bits. My old straighteners which had served me well over the years were snagging, pulling and breaking both the damaged and newly growing hair but these ones glide through the hair with hardly any breakage. In 2001, ghd revolutionised the hair styling industry with the launch of the first ghd hair straightener. An instant hairstyling phenomenon; ceramic heat technology was introduced to create smooth, sleek results that lasted. Since creating the original professional styler, ghd have continued to work with ghd scientists and stylists to develop innovative, breakthrough technology to ensure that all ghd stylers style faster and give amazing results; whatever your hair type.
I own the GHD V Sapphire Styler and I am in love with it. It straightens through my medium to fine , puffy curly hair nicely reducing it to a sleek , straight and soft state. The box it comes in is really petty and you usually can purchase the iron as part of a set with another product such as a comb to styling spray, depending on where you get it from. It can be petty expensive but will last you the best part of a decade. The styler is create to curl, wave to straighten your hair and it heats up really fast and glides through your hair magically. However it makes it alittle bit trickier to curl/wave hair because it doesn't have much grip on your hair but usually the straighteners will gain alittle more grip the longer you use them (what I found with my iv styler).
This iron claims to heat up in 15 seconds; it also claims to use some bullshit technology that allows it to "self adjust" temperature according to hair type. Well it got warm but it sure as hell didn't heat up enough to seriously straighten or curl my hair in a mere 15 seconds--in fact, I found that it didn't ever straighten my hair enough to satisfy me.
We’ll admit, the $150 price tag did give us pause, but when it comes to applying high heat to our hair, we want to make sure the styling process is as quick and snag-free as possible. While a lower quality tool may save your budget in the short term, if its mechanics aren’t up to par it could require a few extra passes over your hair, which can wind up damaging your strands in the long run. With the GHD Classic Styler all you need is a quick glide in order to achieve perfectly smooth hair. The thin, rounded barrel even makes it ideal for mastering those loose waves you’ve been dreaming of.

So the real question isn’t about whether people think that the GHD Classic 1-inch Styler is great. There’s virtually a universal consensus that it is. The question is about the reputation of the seller from which you are contemplating buying the GHD Classic 1-inch Styler. There are actually legitimate sellers who offer significant discounts, but they’re not easy to find.
