Historically, working-class people's haircuts have tended to be practical and simple. Working-class men have often shaved their heads or worn their hair close-cropped, and working-class women have typically pulled their hair up and off their faces in simple styles. However, today, working-class people often have more elaborate and fashion-conscious hairstyles than other social classes. Many working-class Mexican men in American cities wear their hair in styles like the Mongolian (shaved except for a tuft of hair at the nape of the neck) or the rat tail (crewcut on top, tuft at the nape), and African-Americans often wear their hair in complex patterns of box braids and cornrows, fastened with barrettes and beads, and sometimes including shaved sections or bright colour. Sociologists say these styles are an attempt to express individuality and presence in the face of social denigration and invisibility.
after a lot of advice from friends I decided to buy a ghd style as opposed to other cheaper brands it was definitely the right decision it heats up super fast and works really well. The amazon price is fantastic and I successfully registered it on the ghd website so it must be the real thing not a fake . The only thing is you might want to buy a separate heatproof bag for this as it didn't come with one and ensure you aren't buying it from a third party but from amazon directly.
The ceramic plate on the FemJolie heats in just a minute or two, and the silicone tips on the bristles are quite comfortable on the scalp and gentle as they detangle, straighten and de-frizz. It’s important to note that this straightening brush is only designed to work on clean, dry hair; you won’t see the results you expect if you use it right after jumping out of the shower, and because it’s a flat brush it won’t add volume to your hair the way a barrel model would.
I would recommend this product to any lady that regularly straightens her hair. Product gets hot quick and turns off after about 30 minutes of no use. Simply the best straightener I've ever had.
was able to register the product with no problem great deal on an authentic ghd flat iron as this costs 180 at the salon
Great price for a fabulous new flatiron I love the ghd brand I had a previous one it got fried when I went to paris due to voltage so the converter on this one is great
Last one lasted 10 years hope this one does so also. Great wife loves it.
The L’Oréal Professionnel Steampod is unique in that unlike traditional hair straighteners, it relies on steam technology to straighten hair; reducing frizz and smoothing down the fibres. This technology provides gentle heat action which helps to minimise damage to the hair. Proven to be faster than other straighteners and giving up to 50% smoother hair, the Steampod is perfect for enhancing your blow-dry and giving you salon-perfect results each and every time.
This ghd is the real deal. It works great on my hair. I also registered my ghd online when I received it to ensure it's the genuine deal and it is. I love it the only thing this product did not come with a carry pouch for the hair iron and there is no temperature control. Other than that it is great
Between 27 BC and 102 AD, in Imperial Rome, women wore their hair in complicated styles: a mass of curls on top, or in rows of waves, drawn back into ringlets or braids. Eventually noblewomen's hairstyles grew so complex that they required daily attention from several slaves and a stylist in order to be maintained. The hair was often lightened using wood ash, unslaked lime and sodium bicarbonate, or darkened with copper filings, oak-apples or leeches marinated in wine and vinegar. It was augmented by wigs, hairpieces and pads, and held in place by nets, pins, combs and pomade. Under the Byzantine Empire, noblewomen covered most of their hair with silk caps and pearl nets.
very nice it does a good job and heats up fast. I have pretty curly hair and it straightens it right out
We do love the fact that the flat iron remembers your last heat setting so you don’t have to keep changing it every time you turn the hair straightener on. With this flat iron, you also get an automatic shut off feature. The plates are 1.5 inches wide which makes it ideal for individuals with medium to long thick tresses. However, it isn’t ideal for making curls due to the large plates. Also, there may be durability issues as several owners have reported that their units never lasted more than a year.
These would be an ideal christmas gift as they are presented in a smart black and gold box with a lovely black padded storage bag and heat resistant mat heatproof guard paddle brush and hair clips.once the straighteners are plugged in they will beep when turned on and then beep again after a couple of seconds when they are ready to use and it is a couple of seconds they heat up so quickly I have never used ghd’s before so all I can say is ‘you get what you pay for ‘. They heat up so quickly and they glide through your hair. There was no pulling and you don’t have to use any resistance or even go over the same piece of hair time and time again.the only negative I can think of is the price they are very expensive and there are a lot of cheaper alternatives.however I think they are definitely worth paying for.
I was able to verify and register it on the ghd website without any issues works great so far.
The FemJolie flat straightening brush is convenient because of its lightweight, less than one pound. It’s extremely flexible because it allows you to select temperatures as low as 176° (too low for most users, but not bad for a brief touch-up) and as high as 450° (the right setting for those with very thick hair) in increments of 9°. The brush auto-locks at your selected temperature so you can’t burn your hair by mistake and so it automatically heats to the right temperature every time you use it; you can easily override the auto-lock if you choose.
Beachwaver Co. has reached cult-level status for its super easy-to-use Beachwaver, yes, but this styling iron from the brand is equally as notable. The beauty of it is the fact that you can achieve multiple looks with it. Use as is for a sleek, straight look or apply the black Coast Pro attachments (that are shaped like a round brush) and glide the iron down each hair section, rolling your wrist under towards the ends to create the illusion of a professional blowout.
A replacement as loved the first ghd straightener I bought.
