as a hairstylist I'm picky about my tools. Read great reviews on this flat iron and it was on a sale. Came in a gorgeous box the tool itself is sleek and slim. Great design. Heats up in 15 seconds. Perfect grip. Love it

Hello, ladies! This is Monica, the founder of the MyStraightener blog. In this post, I’m going to tell you about the best flat irons on the market so far and some other hair straighteners. I will also give you some tips and tricks on how to choose the best straightening iron for your hair type. At the end of the post, I’m going to answer the most common questions about using flat irons. Gosh, we have so much to discuss! I hope you have some leisure time =)

The ghd Air Professional Performance Hairdryer brings the salon experience home through state-of-the-art design and powerful performance. Developed in collaboration with top stylists, Air provides up to two times faster drying with reduced frizz for the perfect salon blowout. It features advanced ionic technology that allows the industrial generator to lock in moisture, and is powered by a professional-strength, 1600-watt AC motor that’s built to last. The sleek, ergonomic design makes it a breeze to use—whether you are right-handed or left. It features variable heat settings, two speeds for customized control for every hair type, and a cool shot button to set styles in place. The dryer seals in smoother, shinier, longer-lasting results with less frizz.
Available with either ceramic plates (good for all hair types) or titanium ones (choice for curly, thick, and coarse textures), this innovative styler features touch sensor technology that lowers the heat when it's not being used, then automatically brings it back up to temp as soon as it's touched. Translation: No more waiting for your iron to heat up in between passes. Use it for smooth and sleek styles, or take advantage of the round brush-esque attachments to create more of a bouncy blowout effect.
The Mighty Mini Downtown Styler features lightweight, durable, and microscopically smooth titanium plates which can be used to create straight, wavy, and curly styles with a silky, snag-free finish. A ceramic heating element emits far-infrared heat which locks in moisture and protects the hair cuticle from damage. Reaching 400°F in under a minute, the ceramic produces negative ions which close the cuticle for smooth, shiny, frizz-free results.

I have an older chi styler that is wider so I thought I'd give this ghd 1 a try. It heats really quickly and beeps to let you know it's ready. It also has a flashing led light. Even though I have beyond shoulder length hair it is very fine in texture. This narrower styler worked better for me. I can curl the ends under or flip it easier than with the wider styler. It glides through my hair without any tugs or pulls. It has a sleep mode in case you forget to turn it off. After 30 minutes it starts to cool down. The only negative is that it's hard to set it on the counter like it shows in the picture because the black part is so rounded that it wants to fall over. My chi is slightly flattened I guess it doesn't hurt for it to lay on its side since there is a small gap between the plate and the edge of the styler so the plate doesn't make contact with the counter but I wouldn't go off and leave it. It has a swivel cord which is a must for this type of styler.i don't use a styler often because my hair is fragile but when I do I will probably reach for this one. It leaves my hair smooth and shiny. It comes very nicely boxed so it would make a nice gift.addition I didn't realize when I wrote this review that there was a controversy over fake ghd stylers but I just registered mine and it is the real thing.

Ever since the early 2000’s when the planet collectively decided that straightening our hair to death was a good idea, beauty companies have been searching for a way to achieve beautiful and natural-looking straight looks without frying or unnecessary damage. From ceramic plates to protective sprays and everything in between, we have been desperately searching for some way, any way, to show off a straight head of hair that isn’t entirely made of straw.
Just like the other reviewer I am not surprised to see a bad review about ghd. A lot of the ghd irons sold on this website and others are fake reproductions sold as the real thing and even if they were real such as the ones sold on ... The warrantee is not valid because they are not authorized distributors. Luckily for us we can now purchase the ghd styler directly from its official website I guess they finally realized there are too many fake ghd out in the market so stop wasting your money on these fake ghd imitations and get the real deal. Ghd is the best flat iron out there. It is used by the 'real' professionals everywhere in the world not these fake a corner store salons. Even when I traveled to europe most high end salons I visited used ghd. Plus ghd has dual voltage in other words you can take it around the world no problema. By the way if your hair is breaking perhaps you should reconsider how often you flat iron your hair and the types of products that you use. I personally only flat iron it once maybe twice a week 1st upon washing my hair and later on in the week as a touch up .these tools are not meant for everyday use just like with anything else in life too much of a good thing can turn out not to be so good in the end...or something like that... The point is you need to take better care of your hair. I personally like to use the biolage brand. You can also get a good deep conditioner such as baba de caracol or alter ego garlic dominican italian deep conditioners respectively and a good blowdryer such as turbo. I also like chi but they break within 6 12 months so don't waste your money there. To style your hair use chi infusion or moroccan oil 9it's a dry oil not actually oily and there you have it instead of styling your hair everyday wrap it at night and it will be as good as new the next day. Now go to ... To get the real deal. Do not settle for anything less... Ghd is the realest well you get the point

best flat iron I've ever had

The InfinitiPro by Conair has extra-long 1-inch tourmaline ceramic floating plates with 30 different heat settings (maximum heat is 455 degree Fahrenheit) and an extra long swivel line cord. It is perfect for creating silky smooth, straight hair or shiny curls. You can use it whether you’re hair is delicate, medium, or thick and hard-to-straighten. AND it has an automatic shut-off feature. It only takes 15 seconds to heat up which means that you can style your hair pretty quickly. However, like our first pick, the settings do not indicate the temperature. Also, the handle can get very warm. The plates also do not completely close unless you put quite a bit of pressure on them. It also doesn’t feature a safety latch that will keep the flat iron closed when you put it down while it’s still hot.
Muy buena plancha cumpli todas sus expectativas y da muy buen servicio
You are definitely paying for quality.have been using ghds since 2006 older models and have never looked back. Quality is superb and definitely delivers great results.can easily last 10 years
I love my new ghd professional original styler 1 inch. The dual voltage allows me to style my hair when traveling which was a real problem before. Compact to take on any trip. Love it

I received the product in time...safe and good job well donekeep the good workhighly recommend to all my friends
This is the best straightener I've ever used plus I can curl with it I registered it online and activated the guarantee. Great product
Features like this prove that hair straighteners really have come a long way over the last decade, and the LumaBella Keratin Duel Touch Hair Straightener certainly doesn’t disappoint in this regard! When the terror of hair damage is removed from everyday straightening, there’s no limit to the styles you can create with a hair straightener like this making this an ideal choice for novice and expert stylists alike!

Love this product. Had my last one same thing lasted 9 yrs till I dropped it. Great straightener.
Last one lasted 10 years hope this one does so also. Great wife loves it.
despite some of the reviews I bought the product and fell in love I love how shiny and soft my hair feels once I've straightened. This along with a straightening comb leaves my hair pin straight and flawless. I love it

This is the best flat iron ive ever had in my life I have long hair and although its a 1 inch it straightens my hair like nobodys business I love the way it heats up fast and not only that the first time you try it by whatever hair type you have it will adjust the heat for your type of hair and my hair is super thick wavy and frizzy. So yes it works best flat iron and I heard about this flat iron from the best professional hair and make up stylist in the world kandee johnson.
Just bought a new ghd straightener. I have an old one 12 years old and ghd is not available in my country so I decided to buy a new one if the older one would die . I have used the old one everyday sometimes 2x a day for 12 years and I absolutely love it. I have been trying the new one and it is a litle bit different seems to weigh a litle bit less and has a sound effect when it is turned on. I feel like the new one is to smooth but that could be because the old one is very old and has a different feel and the plates are more used. But both of them give me very straight hair. I was very skeptical when reading the reviews on amazon....is it fake or not. My conclusion is that this is not fake and the best hair straightener ever. I have long curly frizzy hair and it takes me under 5 minutes to straighten my hair. I have tried many brands over the years and I have to say that ghd is the best of the best.
The high-density bristles on the professional-style nano comb are designed to prevent curly hair from catching in the teeth. However, that also means straightening your hair can take longer than it does with the Glamsfields or AsaVea, because you may need to make more passes with the brush. Heat-up is fast (60 seconds) and the heat is evenly-distributed thanks to metal ceramic technology. The double-ionic generator works to prevent frizz and split ends.
this straightener is amazing. It heats up in about 20 seconds and is slim and does it's job perfectly. I tell all of my friends about it
It wouldn’t be fair to highlight a straightening brush that’s great for thick hair without also selecting a product that’s best for extremely thin or damaged hair. The MiroPure has 16 different heat settings and is capable of reaching 450° to straighten all types of thick and normal hair. What’s most notable, though, is that it can straighten hair at temperatures as low as 170°, perfect for very thin hair that’s likely to be fried at higher temperatures. It’s difficult to find a model suitable for that type of hair; the review team recommends the MiroPure.
“This product really deserves its five-star review. Let be really clear here, I HAVE 4C HAIR … I spend so much time detangling my hair that it is ridiculous! I mean hours, and I have tried every trick in the book. By the time I finish one section, the other has gotten tangled again. My hair is so thick that it would take me 45 minutes to blow it dry, so I just never did it. [With this brush,] I was able to blow dry my hair on the cool setting in 20 minutes. I did use heat protectant along with a leave in in as well as some black castor oil heavily on the ends. I am able to comb through my hair now. I am so relieved. I think I am going to start seeing some real growth now that I will not be putting off my wash days because I simply don’t have the time for all that detangling. Not to mention that I was always losing a lot of hair with the detangling process. … I did notice that the high setting was really hot, I just used the cool setting and it worked wonders. The bristles are very malleable and the bristle tips are rounded. I have read that some folks have had a problem getting their roots to dry. I had no problem at all. This product is well worth the price. I would have paid three times as much just to be able to part my hair without all of the tangles.”
“Barrel” or rotating hair brush straighteners also detangle, straighten and add shine. In addition, hot air is directed into the hair as their ceramic or metallic barrels rotate, adding volume to thin hair. These are the best option for long hair, and the fact that the barrels are circular provides the added benefit of being able to curl as well as straighten.
bought these for my partner as a christmas present and 3 months on she's very happy with them excellent genuine ghd straighteners at a very reasonable price.
Love love love this styler. I have very fine curly hair that requires washing or wetting every day to get the curls out. Now I can just re straighten it dry when ever I need a quick touch up. Never before had so many compliments.
absolutely love this styler. I have extremely thick hair and have so many issues with my previous chi pulling my hair out. The ghd does not pull at all. Not only does it heat up super quick but it gives me a perfect do in no time a must buy
The HAI Classic Convertible Flat Iron uses ceramic heating element technology for faster heat up and even heat distribution. This hair straightener features 1 1/4 inch wide blue beveled, floating plates for styling flexibility and optimal glide. The temperature is adjustable from 250 degrees Fahrenheit to 410 degrees Fahrenheit. And we really love the fact that the dial shows you exactly what temperature you’re getting whenever you turn the heat up or down. Negative ions help smoothen your hair strands, leaving them silky and shiny.
The male wig was pioneered by King Louis XIII of France (1601–1643) in 1624. Perukes or periwigs for men were introduced into the English-speaking world with other French styles in 1660. Late 17th-century wigs were very long and wavy, but became shorter in the mid-18th century, by which time they were normally white. Short hair for fashionable men was a product of the Neoclassical movement. In the early 19th century the male beard, and also moustaches and sideburns, made a strong reappearance. From the 16th to the 19th century, European women's hair became more visible while their hair coverings grew smaller. In the middle of the 18th century the pouf style developed. During the First World War, women around the world started to shift to shorter hairstyles that were easier to manage. In the early 1950s women's hair was generally curled and worn in a variety of styles and lengths. In the 1960s, many women began to wear their hair in short modern cuts such as the pixie cut, while in the 1970s, hair tended to be longer and looser. In both the 1960s and 1970s many men and women wore their hair very long and straight.[2] In the 1980s, women pulled back their hair with scrunchies. During the 1980s, punk hairstyles were adopted by many people.
The Karmin G3 Salon Professional Ceramic Flat Iron is one of our picks because not only does it perform great, it has a 3-year warranty that backs it up; not something you see with every flat iron in the market. This hair straightener features 1-inch pure tourmaline ceramic plates that can heat up in less than 30 seconds. It has a tangle-free swivel cord and is dual voltage. And it makes use of micro-porous technology and infrared heat to lock in the moisture and natural oils of your hair so it looks healthy, silky, shiny, and straight.
This lightweight styler heats up quickly and has 20 temperature settings for all hair types which reach a top temperature of 230 degrees; making it ideal for people who have thicker or curlier hair. The inclusion of a long swivel cord makes it easy to move the styler around your head so you can fully straighten the hair at the back. Because of the shape of the plates, you can use them to smooth the hair down for perfectly sleek hair, or use their curved edges for gorgeous curls.

The heat can reach up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit; not as high as our other picks but definitely high enough for most hair types. However, for those with stubborn, coarse hair, you may want to look elsewhere for your hair styling needs. Also, this is one of the priciest hair straighteners we’ve tried so you’ll need to save a bit to splurge on this one.

There are many options to embellish and arrange the hair. Hairpins, clasps, barrettes, headbands, ribbons, rubber bands, scrunchies, and combs can be used to achieve a variety of styles. There are also many decorative ornaments that, while they may have clasps to affix them to the hair, are used solely for appearance and do not aid in keeping the hair in place. In India for example, the Gajra (flower garland) is common there are heaps on hairstyles.
Very quick to heat up and they are much hotter than any other styler I have used. Love that they can be used when travelling abroad with dual voltage. Thanks to my sister for recommending this product.

great
