My very first GHD styler. I purchased this before cosmetology school and it worked for my extremely coarse hair. I used it quite often on myself and when I enrolled I used my GHD on my clients and it’s honestly top quality for a brand that’s accessible to at home use. I found this flatiron more consistent than the professional irons in my cosmetology kit.
I worked in the hair industry for a while so I've used a lot of high end flat irons and I got to say, this one did not impress me at all. I'd never used a GHD before this btw (none of the stylists I know have one) but I ended up ordering the GHD classic styler--which btw seems to be the same as the "IV styler"--instead of the CHI Turbo due to the fact that at the time, the GHD was on sale and basically the same price yet it offered more versatility (the turbo has a velvet cover so you can't use it to curl).
As mentioned earlier, the GHD classic Styler uses ceramic plates which heat up faster than other materials but it doesn’t emit negative ions like tourmaline flat irons, which doesn’t only straighten hairs smoothly but also makes dry and damaged hairs healthy by counteracting with positive ions. So, in terms of professional use and/or greatest results, GHD classic styler can’t be recommended. That is my personal opinion as an author. As an alternative, I can recommend you to read CHI Air hair iron review, it is tourmaline ceramic, and thus little more in price in comparison to classic styler.
Achieve straight, sleek locks: Mist hair with ghd heat protect spray and place a fine section of dry hair between the plates of your ghd Classic Styler. Ensure that the styler is as close to the root as possible before closing the plates. Then gently move toward the tip of the section in one simple gliding motion. Repeat the process with each section of hair, gliding once from roots to ends.
I have used ghd straighteners for the last three years and when they broke, I was devastated especially as it was a bank holiday weekend! No other straighteners were ever able to smooth my hair like ghds so I ordered another pair! After having 3 days of frizzy uncontrollable hair, I was delighted to have my hair back in smooth and beautiful condition, within minutes! I never dreamed I would become so dependent on my ghds but I wouldn't be without them now. Thank you so much for a prompt service!
Where abouts do you keep your hair straightener? As it may be because its cold or has condensation inside it. This may sound funny but you actually shouldnt keep your GHD in the bathroom cause they can get cold and dont like it, or if u want to keep it in the bathroom then wrap it in a towel. This may fix the problem. If not then call GHD and you may be able to get a replacement. Hope this helps :)
