I first tried this Straightener in Australia when I went to visit a friend. I absolutely fell in love with it!!! Only problem for me is that it costs about 200-300 or more depending on what size/type you get. I was beyond excited to see the discount price on here and purchased it immediately. Quick delivery. AMAZING straightener. Heats up in seconds. Straightens my hair extremely fast and doesn't damage it. (Even when I forget to spray my heat protection product) Would definitely recommend this product. It's a great investment and worth every penny. Also comes with manufacturer Warranty, so be sure to register on their site. Thank you!

When I turned it on the sound was muffled and sounded cheap compared to the eclipse. I found that the plates would catch on my freshly blow dried hair when dragging it through my sectioned off hair. The finish of my hair looked dry and not nearly as fresh as the eclipse. It still does the job, but it is a down grade if you’re use to an older model GHD
Xtava’s two inch-wide plates are massive, making them perfect for people with thick or coarse hair. Aside from the plates, everything else about this flat iron is fairly standard. You can use it at a temperature range in between 265 and 445 degrees Fahrenheit, the plates are made with tourmaline and ceramic, and it takes less than two minutes for the tool to fully heat.

This original hair hero uses ceramic heat technology to style at the optimum styling temperature, for perfect results every time. A rounded barrel and floating plates makes this styler glide easily through hair, creating beautiful styles. Plus, with automatic sleep mode and universal voltage you'll have peace of mind to create great results at home or abroad.

How hot are GHD Platinum?

Lightweight travel sizes can be slipped into your weekend bag to style hair while you're away – plus universal voltage emsures easy use anywhere in the world. Speedy heat up means there's no waiting around in the morning, and with automatic sleep mode you'll have no worries that you've left them switched on. GHD Curve tongs – GHD offers two different types of tongs in the Curve collection. If you need to maximise volume, the Soft Curl tongs will be preferable. They work better with longer hair, creating luxuriantly soft, rippled curls from the root. The Classic Curl is all about creating reliably consistent curls and works best on shorter hair. Both tongs come with long cords for flexible usage, include a safety stand to prop the tongs when they aren't in use and have “cool tips” which let users twine curls safely without the risk of burns.
Absolutely awful! My trusty old ghd straighteners have lasted me for 10 years and always leave my hair perfectly straight and glossy. I thought I'd treat myself to a new pair and thought these looked like a bargain. You get what you pay for! I've only used these once, as they left my hair still wavey and very frizzy. I've emailed ghd, as I'm convinced these are fake. Just awaiting a response. Very disapointed.

I wanted to love this straightener but I didn't at all. I bought this and a t3 and I will be returning this. I was replacing my babyliss and honestly the babyliss was better than this. I really don't see where all the good reviews come from. It did straighten my hair good but it tugs and pulls as you go and my hair kept getting caught between the plates. It pulled strands out every time I used it. For this price I was expecting it to be amazing not tugging and pulling my hair out!
I love GHD i purchased this styler in August and can't be happier, i have curly/thick/coarse hair and this styler works amazing, it makes my hair so straight and soft and look amazing, i use it maybe 1-3 times a week and once it's done i don't have to redo it like i have with other flat irons.. I have and will continue to purchase GHD flat irons and products.

The most basic function of a moisturizer is to hydrate and soften the skin. “Essentially, moisturizers assist in preventing water loss through the outer layers of skin,” Dr. Charles explains. “They can also complement the naturally found protective oils and other building blocks within the skin, such as ceramides.” This is one product that doctors recommend using year-round, for all skin types. “Skin naturally loses the ability to retain moisture as we age,” Dr. Nazarian insists, “and daily activities, such as washing, can strip natural hydrators from the surface.”

GHD Air – The main dryer on offer from the brand, the Air has a 2,100W motor – stronger than your average store-bought hair-dryer, comes with a removable filter, as well as plenty of custom options to change the airflow and temperature. This is more or less a salon dryer, transferred to home use, so anyone who wants a professional-style finish can't go wrong.

In the world of dryers, it's a question of buying either the GHD Aura or the Dyson Supersonic. There's no question that Dyson's dryers are smarter. On-board CPUs receive information about temperature constantly, ensuring that hair damage isn't a factor. However, both GHD and Dyson are up to speed where it really counts: ensuring an even, rapid drying experience. Both use ionisation to dry hair quickly. The dryer from Dyson has a unique look that will seduce some people, but GHD's dryers are easier to customise via attachments. This contest will come down to personal taste.
Steam straighteners, like the less common vapor flat irons, are typically considered better for your hair because they provide more moisture, making the straightening process less drying on your strands. While a steam straightener sounds super fancy, Conair makes a reasonably-priced Ionic Steam Flat Iron that heats in 30 seconds and boasts five temperature settings up to 455-degrees Fahrenheit. The steam straightener, with tourmaline-coated ceramic plates, also features three retractable combs, giving you options for the most effective length to detangle your particular hair.
This hair straightener is terrible. It was so damaging and it wouldn’t even straighten my hair. I have wavy hair, so it isn’t even curly or difficult to straighten. I noticed a ton of breakage after using this hair straightener as well. I had all these little short pieces of hair sticking up over my head. I’m not sure what the deal is because I’ve heard so many great things about this hair straightener, yet it was insanely bad for me. I ended up returning it to Sephora.

Used backstage at Miss Universe, this styling iron comes with plenty of smart features. It has an extended plate length of four inches, perfect for those with longer hair. Plus, these plates include layered silicone underneath, providing shock absorption for added durability. The touchscreen control allows for easy temperature changes, and it automatically locks while you're styling, so there’s no such thing as hitting a wrong button.

For many, the word “toner” brings to mind stinging astringents from the ’80s. “The original was an alcohol-based product that was used to dry up oily skin and remove any leftover dirt following cleansing,” Dr. Nazarian says. Today’s formulas, however, have evolved. Think of them as supplements — these thin liquids deliver an extra shot of nutrients, helping the other products in your regimen absorb better, while still balancing your complexion. Most experts, the New York City aesthetician Jordana Mattioli says, consider toner to be optional: “It can be a good way to add in specific ingredients that you may not have in your other products or add another layer of skin-replenishment.” If you have the time and inclination, here are some hero ingredients to look for:
The Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth Straighteners heat up to 232 degrees in just 30 seconds so you can style your hair quickly and without fuss. The smooth plates glide through your hair; helping to smooth the fibres and give you a highly conditioned and glossy finish. Temperature is monitored 50 times per second which ensures that heat remains evenly distributed throughout the plates and your hair appears healthy and sleek.
A few swipes from a professional hair straightener can finish off a high ponytail, restore life to split ends, and give your natural curls a relaxed look for a night or two. No matter what your natural hair type may be, there is a hair straightener as unique as the gorgeous locks on your head! Here are just a few of our favorite hairstyles that can be achieved using a professional hair straightener like the ones we’ve reviewed here:
The straighening floating plates of the ghd Gold Styler boast a new dual-zone technology and heat up in just 25 seconds. The dual-zone technology features two heat sensors that regulate the optimal temperature of 185°C from root to tip as you straighten, ensuring your locks are straight and ultra-sleek. The shimmering gold accents add a touch of luxury to the styler as the round barrel shape makes the Gold Styler perfect for easy, versatile, snag-free styling.

What hair straighteners do professionals use?

So, which model should you go for? Different straighteners will suit different hair types – that's the first thing to note. If you have very fine hair, it makes sense to invest in smarter versions with a high degree of heat sensitivity. That way, you can be confident they won't scorch your hair, which is often a hazard with cheaper, less sophisticated accessories.
When shopping for the best hair straightener for your unique hair type, it can be difficult to decipher all of the different styles and specs. That’s why we’ve done the hard work for you and created this all-inclusive guide to finding the best hair straightener for your unique head o’ hair, so you can spend less time scrolling through pages of products and more time rocking your new dream ‘do!

Do GHD curlers turn themselves off?

With curling tongs and wands, GHD is facing stiff competition from Cloud 9, as well as T3 and Babyliss. Babyliss delivers excellent build quality for the prices it charges (which can be £50 less than comparable GHD models), but its curling products aren't nearly as sophisticated as GHD's. Products like the T3 Whirl Trio Interchangeable Styling Wand are closer to the GHD Curve collection, offering interchangeable barrels. This extra flexibility is great for salons or households with a few different hair types. But it's probably not crucial for individuals. Overall, the Curve remains at the top of the tree, so you can be sure that you'll be purchasing a high-quality accessory.
