The plates in this techy tool house an internal microchip that constantly measures and maintains an even temperature. With no random hot or cold spots, you'll get smoother, straighter, strands in fewer passes. (Spoiler alert: Fewer passes equal less damage). Adjustable temperature settings — from 260 to 410 degrees — make this ideal for any and every hair texture.
This feature is particularly beneficial for users with naturally wavy or curly hair, which can have a tendency to easily snag in hair styling tools. This floating design, combined with the heat sensor, also ensures that your gorgeous curls won’t become permanently damaged just because you decide to straighten things out a bit for an evening or two. After all, those curls are coveted by beauty pros the world over, and you never want to damage them just because of a styling trend!

How do you curl hair with a straightener?

Hi Annabelle! My GHD eclipse did the exact same thing, I kept it in a heat proof case, used it some times not even once a month. I had mine for just over three years. I was very annoyed, as they cost a lot of money. I was able to get in contact with GHD by calling them. I gave them a few details on the model and the best they could do was give me there new model for $150. Which I guess is better than nothing. Good luck!
I looked at my 5 yr old ghd and these ghd straighteners and they looked the same. I was ready to return these straighteners. But then I used both straighteners and compared them, these ones were better. The old straighteners snagged on bottom of my hair. The new straighteners glided through my hair without pulling my hair. The plates are soooo much better :-)

Whether you have curly hair or extremely thick hair, are looking for a mini flat iron or a hair-straightening brush, there are almost too many factors to consider on your quest for the best hair straightener possible. In addition to hair-texture concerns, you have the financial element: Will a more affordable tool from reliable brands like Remington and Conair get the job done, or do you need to splurge on a high- to mid-tier option from well-known luxury brands like GHD, Chi, Babyliss, and Paul Mitchell? If you’re worried about cutting down the primp time in your morning routine, you may want to look at flat irons with larger plate widths and fast heat-up capabilities. Titanium flat irons tend to heat up quicker than those with ceramic plates, but the strength and speed you get with titanium may mean sacrificing the more limited heat damage to your hair done by ceramic devices. If the thought of clamping any hot flat iron, ceramic or not, down on your colored, brittle, or otherwise damaged hair makes you cringe, maybe you should look into a steam straightener or a ceramic flat iron with a wide range of adjustable heat settings to use in tandem with your favorite heat-protecting products.
Reviewers with short hair love this mini straightener. “This flat iron is perfect for my pixie,” writes one, explaining, “I love how hot the iron gets and how skinny the actual plates are. I can even curl the really short hair around my ears and nape area. It was hard to find a flat iron with plates this size that wasn’t $150 or more, but this is it!” However, the miniature size is also appreciated by those with fine or thin hair. “I had no idea flat irons this narrow even existed. Total game changer,” says one commenter. “I have fine, thin hair, and a pixie cut. Even if I had longer hair again, I would only use this! Very well made, heats up quickly, and no snagging or pulling your hair out. You can get really close to your roots without burning yourself.”
Once you have purchased your new hair straightener and mastered the multitude of ways you can put it to good use, the only thing left to do is take care of it, so it lasts for years to come! Just like any luxury beauty tool, you will want to care for your hair straightener to extend its longevity and prevent corrosion (which can actually leak into your flowing locks…yuck!). Our top tips for caring for and cleaning your new hair straightener include:

GHD Curve wands – The other option is to choose a curling wand. As the name suggests, the Creative Curl wand is all about using your imagination to whip up outrageously voluminous curls and is ideal for use with shorter hair. The Classic Wave version has a slightly bulkier barrel and is optimised for longer hair, allowing users to create what GHD calls “Hollywood waves.”
We usually roll our eyes at oil-infused heat tools — but you can actually watch this oil being sucked right out of the refillable cartridge in the handle. When you press the iron closed over your strands, the oil vapor seeps through tiny holes to condition and straighten your hair. And don't worry fine-haired friends: It made our tester's hair silkier, but not like she'd dipped it in an oil vat.
I first tried this Straightener in Australia when I went to visit a friend. I absolutely fell in love with it!!! Only problem for me is that it costs about 200-300 or more depending on what size/type you get. I was beyond excited to see the discount price on here and purchased it immediately. Quick delivery. AMAZING straightener. Heats up in seconds. Straightens my hair extremely fast and doesn't damage it. (Even when I forget to spray my heat protection product) Would definitely recommend this product. It's a great investment and worth every penny. Also comes with manufacturer Warranty, so be sure to register on their site. Thank you!

Absolutely awful! My trusty old ghd straighteners have lasted me for 10 years and always leave my hair perfectly straight and glossy. I thought I'd treat myself to a new pair and thought these looked like a bargain. You get what you pay for! I've only used these once, as they left my hair still wavey and very frizzy. I've emailed ghd, as I'm convinced these are fake. Just awaiting a response. Very disapointed.
It’s not your conventional-looking flat iron, but this straightening brush does the trick all the same. Just turn it on, brush your hair with its heated ceramic bristles like you would with a normal brush, and watch frizz turn smooth, shiny, and static-free in seconds. It’s not going to turn curly hair into sheets of silk, but it’ll straighten out any of your wonky waves or puffy layers.
My eclipse died and I couldn't afford to replace them with the new platinum model, so went for the GHD V Styler, but they were horrendous and made no difference to my hair whatsoever. After reading reviews I thought I'd then try the IV Styler instead, now while a slight improvement on the V model, my hair was still left looking very big and frizzy. I've now reverted back to my really old emergency set of SHE's and can't believe how much better they are than GHD's, even the eclipse! If they ever need replacing, I know which brand I'll be opting for at half the price of GHD's!

The science behind skin-care products has come a long way but there’s still no such thing as an instant fix — you need time to reap the benefits, says Dr. Rachel Nazarian, a Manhattan dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group. “Results are only seen through consistent use,” she explains. Generally, aim to use a product over at least six weeks, once or twice daily, to notice a difference.
