ghd will always be one of our top picks when it comes to straighteners and stylers. This brand have been around for almost two decades, and have easily established themselves as a go-to for celebrities and professionals. As if you weren’t already spoiled for choice, we’re excited to announce the release of the new ghd Gold, a professional-quality straightener with all of the bells and whistles you want from your day-to-day heated tool.
We’ll admit, the $150 price tag did give us pause, but when it comes to applying high heat to our hair, we want to make sure the styling process is as quick and snag-free as possible. While a lower quality tool may save your budget in the short term, if its mechanics aren’t up to par it could require a few extra passes over your hair, which can wind up damaging your strands in the long run. With the GHD Classic Styler all you need is a quick glide in order to achieve perfectly smooth hair. The thin, rounded barrel even makes it ideal for mastering those loose waves you’ve been dreaming of.
I got this recently since it was somewhat affordable and I was in desperate need of a replacement flat iron. I didnt plan on it becoming my main styling tool but for the affordability of this tool, I am SO impressed with the quality! It heats up in a matter of seconds, gets super hot which means a lightening fast styling time, and it's available from Nordstrom which is my favorite retailer to shop!
This overpriced iron is good if you have naturally fine, soft or wavy hair. If you have coarse, thick hair it will not do the job, or it will take you several passes. This is not unique to the GHD, this applies to ALL CERAMIC straighteners. The Auto shut off and dual voltage is awesome, but it is not worth it if the iron does not provide sleek, durable straight hair. If you have kinky, unruly, poofy hair go with TItanium, hand down!!
As far as we’re concerned, this is the best hair straightener we’ve tried. Not only does it heat up in record time (only 30 seconds until it hits 365°F), it’s also been lauded for its frizz fighting capabilities—as mentioned above, a must down South. What’s more, it lasts. One editor’s trusty Classic Styler is still going strong after 4 years of almost daily use.
In 2001, ghd revolutionised the way women styled their hair with the launch of its first styler – a professional tool designed for salon use that could also be easily used at home. ghd has continued to be a leader and innovator in hair styling with its range of professional brushes, ghd Style styling products and the launch of its first hairdryer, ghd air™. Always on the road? You can use the GHD Classic Styler during travels; its universal voltage plug can be used in a variety of sockets and also automatically adjusts its own voltage for optimum versatility. The device itself is equipped with a variety of “modes” to fit your lifestyle. When the device is not in use for 30 minute, it reverts to sleep mode so you can save up on energy and heat temperature. Its shiver mode, on the other hand, is an advanced option that fights condensation in a room with temperatures below 5°C.
Looked around at new ones, checked reviews and other ghd models and decided (based on price mainly) that I would just buy the same ‘original’ one again. It’s great. Better results- smooth and straight with little effort - and quicker heat up than my old one - extremely quick. Much cheaper than the fancier models. Slim and easy to store away. Glad I went for this again.
