Upon learning about the new ghd Gold, one question quickly came to mind when the intrigue settled down — how does the new product stack up against ghd’s other models? If you’re a longtime fan of the brand, you will have seen numerous stylers hit the market to rave reviews, so it can get a little confusing when it comes down to making that big choice.
GHD Classic Styler, from the name itself, you can deduce that this simple yet versatile device was made to style and straighten. Armed with a rounded barrel and advanced ceramic heaters, you can curl, flip, tease, wave, and straighten any hair type and texture easily without damaging your hair’s external surface. The infra-red heat technology infused within the plates also releases more negative ions than other products so your hair’s natural oils and luster are retained despite repeated exposure to maximum heat.
Like all ghds, the IV heats to 185 degrees, which is perfect for creating a poker straight finish, glamorous curls or beachy waves. The floating aluminium plates make the styler easier to hold and control, while also ensuring those tell-tale dents in the hair are a thing of the past. Other features of the IV Styler include a 2.7 metre cable, an automatic shut down after 30 minutes, and universal voltage.

This is an expensive straightener, but it's worth every penny! I've had mine now for over a year, and I know I'll have it for many years to come. The iron itself is black and gold. I have long, thick, straight hair, but it gets a little wavy underneath if I let it air dry. If I blow dry it, it gets a little poofy and I use this to give it a more smooth, sleek look. It takes a couple passes of going over my hair before it's completely straight, but with cheaper ones it takes longer. It doesn't take too long to do all of my hair. It heats up super fast, and if I'm in a hurry and forget to turn it off, it turns off by itself after thirty minutes. I have dropped it a few times, and it's still going strong. I recommend this for everyone.

Our popular Gold Series consists of three V stylers of various sizes: the mini, classic and max. People often suggest that you choose a styler based on the length of your hair; however a better thing to consider is what results you would like from your styler. For example, V Gold Max Styler isn’t just for long hair – it’s also ideal for creating natural results on shorter styles too.
In 2001, ghd revolutionised the hair styling industry with the launch of the first ghd hair straightener. An instant hairstyling phenomenon; ceramic heat technology was introduced to create smooth, sleek results that lasted. Since creating the original professional styler, ghd have continued to work with ghd scientists and stylists to develop innovative, breakthrough technology to ensure that all ghd stylers style faster and give amazing results; whatever your hair type.

For curling, place a section of hair between the plates closest to the scalp, clamp the plates, and turn styler through 180 degrees while holding the end of the strand. Pull styler through the hair slowly, always maintaining the 180 degree turn--it helps to slightly tip the nose of the styler downward, careful not to let the hair fall out. It also helps to pull the strand forward when trying to curl hair at the back of the head.
Bought these on recommendation of my hairdresser to deal with my chemo damaged hair. Thankfully I didn't lose my hair but it did go really thin during treatment. 18 months on from treatment my once fine, straight and easily managed hair has come back in thick with random curly and wavy bits. My old straighteners which had served me well over the years were snagging, pulling and breaking both the damaged and newly growing hair but these ones glide through the hair with hardly any breakage. Achieve seductive soft movement: Mist hair with ghd heat protect spray. Section the hair and lightly mist with a curl hold spray to add shine and hold when styling. Place a fine section of hair between the plates of your ghd Gold Styler vertically 1 inch away from the root. Gently close the styler with minimum tension. Turn the styler clockwise by 90 degrees. For a soft curl, pull the styler quickly through the hair away from the head in one continuous smooth movement. An s-shaped vertical curl is created. To complete the style, repeat through all sections. Finally, separate and brush out the curls with a wide-tooth comb.
