Hi Annabelle! My GHD eclipse did the exact same thing, I kept it in a heat proof case, used it some times not even once a month. I had mine for just over three years. I was very annoyed, as they cost a lot of money. I was able to get in contact with GHD by calling them. I gave them a few details on the model and the best they could do was give me there new model for $150. Which I guess is better than nothing. Good luck!

My original GHD lasted me 8+ years with absolutely no issues. This GHD lasted me 2 years - out of no where the light started flashing, beeping and it turns itself off. My personal experience with the customer service centre was great. They’re replies were quick, polite and helpful. I contacted Amazon about the issue and was told that it had passed the 30 day return period. I was also reminded I was complaining about a product which had worked for a year. I was basically being told that I should be happy it worked for 1 year, despite the product having a 2 year warranty period. Such a shocking lack of empathy from an Amazon customer service representative.
