So the real question isn’t about whether people think that the GHD Classic 1-inch Styler is great. There’s virtually a universal consensus that it is. The question is about the reputation of the seller from which you are contemplating buying the GHD Classic 1-inch Styler. There are actually legitimate sellers who offer significant discounts, but they’re not easy to find.
Against the ghd Platinum Styler: On the other hand, the Platinum Styler features more sensors and heaters than the new ghd Gold. This essentially means it will heat the hair quicker, and is a little safer in terms of heat delivery, too. Six sensors and heaters work to deliver optimal heat to the hair, instinctively adjusting to give you a transformative experience. Where this is the top-of-the-range choice, the ghd Gold Professional Styler sits perfectly in the middle, a great mix of affordability and professional quality.

My previous GHD has lasted me 8 good years with no issues (I loved it!). Recently the wires on the chord have become exposed so my partner decided to replace it for my birthday. He went to hairhouse warehouse and the staff persuaded him to purchase a Halo instead after rubbishing the GHD. I used the Halo once and whilst I quite liked it, the outer plates were too hot to touch, which makes it difficult to style my hair (I use two hands and twist for a wave effect). I went back to the store to change over to a GHD. The staff member warned me that the quality of GHDs is poor after changing manufacturers about 4 years ago. I wasn't worried though as I thought she was pushing Halo for incentive reasons. I used the GHD for the second time this week and when I plugged it in it made a pop sound like the fuse had blown - it shortcut the circuit in most the house. I then plugged it into a working socket and put the tongs to my fringe - it melted/burnt my hair immediately after being on there for a split second. There is literally melted hair all over the plate tongs and I can't get rid of the smell of burnt hair. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

I have just up graded my GHD. I purchased the pink one for $280 as it was the only one the salon had. When u section your hair to straighten, the flat irons don't seem to come together 3/4 of the way but on the very tip of them, it pinches my hair and rips it out. It's nothing like my old one that I've had for about 10 years. Have you changed manufacturers ?
Looked around at new ones, checked reviews and other ghd models and decided (based on price mainly) that I would just buy the same ‘original’ one again. It’s great. Better results- smooth and straight with little effort - and quicker heat up than my old one - extremely quick. Much cheaper than the fancier models. Slim and easy to store away. Glad I went for this again.
Among other accolades, the brand has appeared on The Salon and Australia’s Next Top Model and was also the first hair styling tool sponsor of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Its products are loved and endorsed by such A-list celebs as Jennifer Aniston, Madonna and Posh Spice herself, Victoria Beckham and Katy Perry has been the face of the brand since 2011.
BEWARE of sellers with LOW FEEDBACK! Ask sellers questions about the 22 things I have pointed out above. If they do not answer, don't buy! If they make excuses, don't buy! Also, some buyers who have been ripped off are trying to resell their GHD's to cut their losses. Watch for things like "I got it as a gift" or "I recently cut my hair". One of the seller's I purchased from was supposed to be shipping out of Georgia but he really shipped from China. Don't believe everything you read about a seller's information. They can lie.
For me, the first and still very best of all ceramic stylers [and my dad is a hairdresser too]. It heats up fast, cools down relatively fast, works wonderfully and lasts a long time. In 11 years, I've bought two such stylers. The first one eventually died after 6 years of daily use, rarely skipping a day, while my second one is still going strong. I have no reason to recommend any other styler but this one. My hair is long and very fine.
This is my current go to styler at home. The one inch plates work perfectly for medium length hair. I don’t recommend using this plate size for longer hair , as it can be a task. The plates heat up and beep in about 60 seconds making this a necessity for busy people as well as a busy and timely stylist. There is also a hard plastic sleeve to cover the plates so it can be packed away quickly. They heat up to 450°f so that’s useful when traveling.
Like the other core straighteners in the ghd range, the new ghd Gold Professional Styler works wonders for every hair type. The smooth plates and Dual-Zone Technology ensure thick or coarse hair receives enough heat to create a sleek look, whereas the sensors help to regulate heat delivery in thin hair types. You can use your new ghd Gold to create everything from pin straight locks to ghd curls, which require a simple twisting motion for that signature luxe, wavy look.
With our revolutionary tri-zone technology the ghd platinum styler guarantees the optimum styling temperature of 365°F is maintained from root to tip, making your hair healthier, stronger and shinier as you style. Six intelligent sensors, three in each plate, guarantee consistent heat throughout the plates creating gorgeous, long lasting styles, in just one stroke. Styling with ghd platinum is proven to reduce hair breakage by 50%, increase shine by 20% and deliver 2x more color integrity. The ghd platinum styler also features a unique wishbone hinge to ensure that the plates are precisely aligned. Your hair stays perfectly positioned throughout styling without slipping, giving you greater control to create any style, whether you want your hair to be straight, or to add curls and waves. Perfect for all hair types, including harder to style hair, the ghd platinum styler delivers our best-ever styling results. Other features include a heat-resistant plate guard to protect your surfaces after styling, sleep mode for complete peace of mind, universal voltage and a two year warranty for extra peace of mind.
Where abouts do you keep your hair straightener? As it may be because its cold or has condensation inside it. This may sound funny but you actually shouldnt keep your GHD in the bathroom cause they can get cold and dont like it, or if u want to keep it in the bathroom then wrap it in a towel. This may fix the problem. If not then call GHD and you may be able to get a replacement. Hope this helps :)
If you’ve read enough ghd flat iron reviews, then you’ve probably realized the main problem about this ghd flat iron. It’s the fact that it’s so popular that so many people are trying to peddle fake copies. It’s hard to believe that people would try to come up with fake ghd straighteners, but they’re now like Zippo, Louis Vuitton, and other iconic brands. There are so many fakes around!
Against the ghd IV Styler: Although the IV Styler is one of the original products in the ghd range, it’s still pretty beloved amongst customers, especially because of its affordable price. Unlike the new ghd Gold Professional Styler, though, this product only boasts one sensor that stretches across both plates, meaning it’s less intuitive at heating your hair.
Delivering high pressure air flow for super-fast drying while advanced ionic technology reduces frizz and flyways to give a smooth salon-style finish in half the time*. The ghd hair dryer was designed by professionals for professional and offers you the best hair drying experience at home.
