Renowned across the globe as a pioneer of innovative hair tools, ghd has radically transformed the way people style their hair from the comfort of their own home. To complement their best selling tools, including straighteners, curling tongs, and hair dryers, is a range of protective styling formulas, focused on keeping hair healthy, happy, and out of harm’s way.
As mentioned earlier, the GHD classic Styler uses ceramic plates which heat up faster than other materials but it doesn’t emit negative ions like tourmaline flat irons, which doesn’t only straighten hairs smoothly but also makes dry and damaged hairs healthy by counteracting with positive ions. So, in terms of professional use and/or greatest results, GHD classic styler can’t be recommended. That is my personal opinion as an author. As an alternative, I can recommend you to read CHI Air hair iron review, it is tourmaline ceramic, and thus little more in price in comparison to classic styler.
To have straight hair, you just mist your hair with the GHD thermal protector. You then start at the part of the hair that’s closest to the roots, and then you glide the GHD Classic 1-inch Styler to the tips in one smooth stroke. You can also follow the easy directions for soft movement and for curls, which involve some turning while you glide from root to end.
Bought these on recommendation of my hairdresser to deal with my chemo damaged hair. Thankfully I didn't lose my hair but it did go really thin during treatment. 18 months on from treatment my once fine, straight and easily managed hair has come back in thick with random curly and wavy bits. My old straighteners which had served me well over the years were snagging, pulling and breaking both the damaged and newly growing hair but these ones glide through the hair with hardly any breakage. Achieve stunning curls: Mist hair with ghd heat protect spray. Section the hair and lightly mist with a curl hold spray. This will help give hold when creating each curl. Place a fine section of hair between the plates of your ghd Classic Styler vertically 1 inch away from the root. Gently close the styler with minimum tension. Turn the styler clockwise by 90 degrees; continue to turn the styler by another 90 degrees as you glide from root to end. For an intense curl, pull the styler very slowly away from the head in a continuous smooth movement. An s-shaped vertical curl is created. To complete the style, repeat through all sections. Finally, separate and brush out the curls with your fingers.
I'm a journalism grad and avid makeup fan with an unhealthy addiction to buying nude lipsticks, no matter how similar they all may seem. I love chatting to anyone who will listen about my new favourite products, skincare dos and don'ts and practically any other beauty-related topic under the sun. That doesn't mean I'm frivolous with my recommendations, though--you can count on me to give you the nitty gritty on all your wishlist products. In my spare time, you'll find me binge-watching old episodes of Gilmore Girls or at brunch with a large iced coffee in my hand.
Giving you ultimate control of your hair, ghd’s range of brushes innovatively style hair without causing static, helping to create the optimum silky smooth blow-dry. The ghd Ceramic Brush features a ceramic barrel to retain heat too, making sure your blow-dry is super speedy and the natural bristles on the Natural Bristle Radial Brush work to create a smoother finish, adding volume to mid-length hair.
Lightweight Feel: If you style your hair with a straightener every day, you know how taxing it can get to hold a heavy product above your head while you utilise its magic. Thankfully, one of the key elements of the original ghd V Gold Styler has been maintained in the new model — its lightweight feel. We promise your arms won’t ache even after a solid session using this straightener!
