There’s no doubting that ghd electricals are more than just a name in the hair industry. With an amazing range of products designed to make every day a Good Hair Day, the brand has totally revolutionised the way we style our hair at home. If you’re new to the ghd styler family, and wondering which is the perfect choice for you from their range of salon-quality, do-it-all heat stylers, here’s everything you need to know to make your decision.
* * * Update: After returning the above-described item, I bought a ghd Classic Styler in-person from one of their authorized salon dealers (info at ghd's site). When I went to register the hologram and date codes, the ghd site accepted them on the first try. Also, the second unit I bought HAD country-of-manufacture information on the box and on the date sticker (made in China, which some other comments said isn't legit, that seems to be wrong). My unit labeled made-in-China is the one that registered successfully with ghd. Also my second purchase - from the authorized dealer - had a lot of information printed on the bottom of the box, including a bar code, web info, consumer information phone number, design info and information about the product. The unit I purchased from Amazon had NO printing on the bottom of the otherwise authentic-looking box. Draw your own conclusions. Bottom-line: if you buy a ghd styler here, double and triple-check that your unit is for real.
My very first GHD styler. I purchased this before cosmetology school and it worked for my extremely coarse hair. I used it quite often on myself and when I enrolled I used my GHD on my clients and it’s honestly top quality for a brand that’s accessible to at home use. I found this flatiron more consistent than the professional irons in my cosmetology kit.

If you’re a longtime fan of the brand, you will have seen numerous stylers hit the market to rave reviews, so it can get a little confusing when it comes down to making that big choice.

Beautiful to look at, the ghd Gold V Classic is also lovely to hold. It’s designed to be extremely lightweight, so it won’t tire your arm out holding it. And with its standout gold ceramic plates, it brings a touch of luxury to your hair-styling regime too. The designers at ghd have done everything to ensure that the Gold V Classic delivers top-class styling with minimum fuss.
Against the ghd Platinum Styler: On the other hand, the Platinum Styler features more sensors and heaters than the new ghd Gold. This essentially means it will heat the hair quicker, and is a little safer in terms of heat delivery, too. Six sensors and heaters work to deliver optimal heat to the hair, instinctively adjusting to give you a transformative experience. Where this is the top-of-the-range choice, the ghd Gold Professional Styler sits perfectly in the middle, a great mix of affordability and professional quality.

Everyone from the pros to at-home haircare lovers will adore this new model from ghd, as its range of benefits and features promise an experience like no other. Easy, light and stress-free, you’ll love straightening your hair on the regular with this soon-to-be coveted product. Stylist Bryce Scarlett created this gorgeous look on Aussie babe Margot Robbie using the new ghd Gold.
As far as we’re concerned, this is the best hair straightener we’ve tried. Not only does it heat up in record time (only 30 seconds until it hits 365°F), it’s also been lauded for its frizz fighting capabilities—as mentioned above, a must down South. What’s more, it lasts. One editor’s trusty Classic Styler is still going strong after 4 years of almost daily use.
Like all ghds, the IV heats to 185 degrees, which is perfect for creating a poker straight finish, glamorous curls or beachy waves. The floating aluminium plates make the styler easier to hold and control, while also ensuring those tell-tale dents in the hair are a thing of the past. Other features of the IV Styler include a 2.7 metre cable, an automatic shut down after 30 minutes, and universal voltage.
If you’ve read enough ghd flat iron reviews, then you’ve probably realized the main problem about this ghd flat iron. It’s the fact that it’s so popular that so many people are trying to peddle fake copies. It’s hard to believe that people would try to come up with fake ghd straighteners, but they’re now like Zippo, Louis Vuitton, and other iconic brands. There are so many fakes around!
As mentioned earlier, the GHD classic Styler uses ceramic plates which heat up faster than other materials but it doesn’t emit negative ions like tourmaline flat irons, which doesn’t only straighten hairs smoothly but also makes dry and damaged hairs healthy by counteracting with positive ions. So, in terms of professional use and/or greatest results, GHD classic styler can’t be recommended. That is my personal opinion as an author. As an alternative, I can recommend you to read CHI Air hair iron review, it is tourmaline ceramic, and thus little more in price in comparison to classic styler.
Improved Ergonomics: If you compare the new ghd Gold to the now-dated V Gold Styler, you’ll notice one of the biggest improvements lies in its look and feel. The modern design means this product will look gorgeous sitting atop your bathroom counter, and the rounded barrel assists with preventing snags and speeding up your styling time. The swivel cord has also been upgraded to enhance your overall experience, letting you worry more about how your hair looks and less about twisting and turning to find the right angle (we’ve all done it).

Ghd Eclipse, the creme de la creme of Ghd Hair Straightners,  tackles any hair texturequickly and easy. You get long lasting curls, leaving your hair glossy with an unbeatable shine. Outside of the styler is cool, it doesn't heat, which is better when curling your hair. This styler will also turn itself off fter 30 mins. This Styler is a Game Changer.
The perfect tool for all your hiar styling needs. universal voltage for worldwide travel use. . The nose of the plates touch first, so it leaves a very small gap as you look down the plates, but if clamped down on tightly, they do eventually touch. ghd stylers have floating plates that help the hair glide through the hair effortlessly. The gap should almost disappear once the hair glides through the plates

For me, the first and still very best of all ceramic stylers [and my dad is a hairdresser too]. It heats up fast, cools down relatively fast, works wonderfully and lasts a long time. In 11 years, I've bought two such stylers. The first one eventually died after 6 years of daily use, rarely skipping a day, while my second one is still going strong. I have no reason to recommend any other styler but this one. My hair is long and very fine.
