Just had my very long very thick hair cut today and they finished it with this straightener. I'm a big supporter of what isn't broken doesn't need to be replaced but with how well this one worked and how silky smooth my hair feels now compared to my old straightener I am now shopping around to replace it. I'll probably get a 50 model like the hsi instead of this for 140 190 but for those willing to pay this price it works wonderfully and hopefully you love the results as much as I do
Love my ghd straightener. This is my 2nd one. I had the first one for years love this brand and it works great
I read a lot about fake stylers but I have no complaints at all. It arrived on time and with the series number that I was able to register at ghd.com. Works perfectly and stops heating if untouched for some time which helps if you accidentally forget to switch it off.
the ghds are what I expected but I have only had them a short time and some of the other reviews stated that they stopped working not long after they were purchased so hopefully this will not happen to me.
I have gone through 3 chi straighteners my whole life and I was a loyal chi person. My friend recommended the ghd and it is amazing and so much better. Silky hair and doesn't make my hair flat
I just retired my 6 year old chi and initially got a chi replacement but it just did not feel like my old chi. I knew then that I had to look for that perfect flat iron that I've been used to. Well I found it with this ghd classic styler. It heats up fast and takes just one quick swipe to straighten my curly hair. It is an amazing iron without any unnecessary frills. Flat iron does damage the hair so keeping it to a minimum is the best thing to do and don't think that paying extra for temp. Adjustment and other frills will somehow be less damaging. Stick to this basic one and you will be so happy also I did buy this iron from amazon itself and was able to register it without any problems.
these work very well as do all ghd straighteners. I have used ghds for years and once I discovered them I never looked back. I can straighten my hair in half the time compared to other similar products and my hair feels better and less damaged afterwards too. I have also received fantastic after sales service from ghd before as well so I trust the brand. These are no different they are well made and the design looks classy while they straighteners themselves do a good job and didn't leave my hair feeling frazzled and fried. The kit itself is decent in the box there were the straighteners of course a heat mat a bag to keep the straighteners in a protective 'end' to put over the hot parts of the straighteners two professional hair clips to hold your hair back while straightening and a paddle brush. These seem to all fit in the bag so it is very useful if you are travelling or even just storing it between uses. The cable is long enough to make using them a doddle and the auto switch off will help ease your mind if you are on your way to work and wondering if you have turned them off despite all this I have knocked a star off purely because they don't work as well as my ghd pinks these leave my hair feeling smooth and silky and the gold set just doesn't seem to do this quite as well. Nevertheless I would still buy them over any other brand out there.
Due in large part to the damage we inflicted on our poor locks during this time, we’ve learned that heat protection isn’t just a luxury: it’s mandatory when it comes to hair straightening. That’s why so many hair straighteners now feature conditioners built right into the plates. We also learned that excess heat can cause permanent damage to hair, so now many flat irons come with automatic turn-off features or self-adjusting heat settings. Well, as the saying goes, there is no progress without a bit of struggle and our hair certainly struggled during the early 2000’s!
Derek Yuen, the man responsible for Cole Sprouse's grown-up new look, recommends the GHD Platinum Professional Performance iron. The flat iron is consistently and evenly heated at 365 degrees, which is safer and less damaging on the strands. “The beveled edges also allow for infinite styling possibilities, not just just for straightening hair,” says Yeun.
The best hair straighteners should offer you adjustable temperature settings so you can customize it depending on your hair type. This is incredibly important if you have thin/fine, delicate, or damaged hair because it allows you to ensure that the iron doesn’t get too hot for your hair. Basically, having the ability to set the temperature/heat setting gives you more control. But if you prefer to have a set temperature, then you should take note just how much heat your hair can take and how hot your hair straightener can get.
seconds and it smoothes my hair with ease I would recommend this flat iron to anyone
Honestly the best straightener I've used. I have had many many many straighteners from cheap 30 ones to pricey 100 ones and this ghd is my favorite by far. One of the best things is that is has an automatic shut off. I can't tell you how many times I worried all day at work because I thought I might have left my hair straightener that heats up over 350 degrees on. I love that this one shuts off maybe a little too soon but still not complaining it's a great feature and not one my other pricey straightener offers. That being said this straightener is also works fantastically. It heats up very quickly and then glides evenly and smoothly for perfectly straight smooth hair. My hair is very thick with a slight wave especially in the back I was pleasantly surprised at what a good job this straightener does on my hair I don't have to go back and re do any sections and with a little product my style holds all day. I didn't think there would be that much difference between the ghb and my other pricier straightener but there is and I am not a ghb girl all the way

It still works just as well as the first day I bought it. It is a very quality and reliable flat iron that holds up to its award winning standards. Since buying this product I have noticed more shine to my hair as well as little to no frizzing. It is effective in keeping my hair straight and smooth all day. In fact I have had friend’s use this styling tool and purchase it after using it because they loved how quick and easily it flat ironed their hair.before I purchased the ghd I used a chi flat iron compared to a chi straightener the ghd keeps my hair looking healthier and less dry. After using this product I would not return to using a chi straightener because of the positive effect the ghd has had on my hair. Although the cost is high it delivers the promised performance. This product is designed for men and women with thick and curly hair looking to straighten their hair in a fast and healthy way. I would highly recommend this product to anyone that flat iron’s his or her hair on a regular basis
Aside from ionic and infrared technologies the Bio Ionic Onepass Straightening Iron has something that is entirely new to me: silicon covered plates. They get the hair more in order when you’re straightening, save you a lot of time and reduce the amount of heat that you need. This one is great for African American hair, but I already selected the xtava Pro Satin for that because it’s more affordable.
Very pleased with these ghds. Came when they were meant to and was able to track. I like good service like this.
Nbsp in the attached video I explain how to register your flat iron and check for authenticity that you are actually receiving an actual ghd product. I was quite surprised to see so many negative reviews stating that they received a fake product. Many went on to talk about holes on the cord and the prong and where it is made but actually those are old posts on the internet and the only sure way is by going to ghd website and registering your product. Even at the ghd website some of the illustrations were out of date which I point out in the video. By entering the halogram sticker unique code and date code of your product you will be emailed to let you know if your product is genuine.now let me discuss about the benefits of the flat iron itself. I have tried numerous brands of flat irons. From hot tools fhi chi hai chameleon to sedu. This is my first ghd brand and I am happy I got to try it out. The ghd classic 1 inch styler uses ceramic plate technology which helps reduce breakage and damage to the hair because the ceramic can glide through your hair without pulling it. It also maintains an even temperature throughout the plates with no cold spots which means less passing on the hair.the ghd has actual ceramic plates and not aluminum plates that are ceramic coated which in time will wear off chip and peel. Ceramic produces negative ions. Dry or damaged hair has positive ions. When you use the ghd ceramic flat iron you are applying negative to positive so you counteracting and balancing the condition of your hair. The negative ions will make your hair smoother silkier and shiny.however what is missing tourmaline. Tourmaline also emits negative but has far infrared heat. It can get rid of odors and pollutants. When tourmaline is heated it can produce more negative ions than plain ceramic plates. This means means far more less damage by locking in your hairs own moisture and minimizing frizz static electricity and flyaways. That is why I give this flat iron four stars instead of five. I prefer a flat iron that has both ceramic and tourmaline technology like the sedu pro ionic ceramic tourmaline flat iron. Not that this flat iron is a bad choice but my sedu is my all time favorite and rated 5 stars and more.
The titanium plates in the BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium Straightening Iron were designed to conduct high levels of heat (again, up to 450° F!) in a short amount of time. Coupled with the Nanotechnology that is packed in each plate, this hair straightener is ideal for anyone that experiences unwanted frizz or static on a regular basis! The titanium also acts as a barrier from corrosion keeping your hair straightener and precious strands free of build-up for years to come!
If you are looking for volume for your fine hair then I would recommend the Vidal Sassoon VSHA6471UK which is a superb hot air styler. Designed especially to give lift and volume from the root it will give you enviable curls and waves. It is supplied with two brush sizes 19mm and 25mm so it’s ideal for shorter styles too (use the smaller brush) and gives a pleasing smooth finish that is tangle free. You cannot fault the price either, on Amazon.co.uk this retails below the price of a salon blow-out.
I have very curly hair and used my friends styler and fell in love I bought this on amazon after reading the bad reviews. Beautifully packed in a very nicebox very easy to register b. So it’s not fake
Just as described love it
The RUSK Professional Straight Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy frizz-free, kink-free, smooth, silky, straight hair. Now, this baby makes use of ceramic and tourmaline infused plates along with Sol-Gel technology which protects your hair from damage and makes your hair smooth and shiny. It’s very lightweight that you barely feel it as you use it. It gets hot pretty quickly and is really great at making curls.
The Glamfields straightener, like most of our top-ranked models, releases negative ions to fight frizz while preventing split ends and knotting. Performance, though, sets it apart from the pack. Hair is straightened beautifully and quickly with the unit’s metal ceramic heater requiring just a 40-second warm-up, eliminating a long wait for the brush to reach temperature. And speaking of temperature, there are 12 heat settings ranging from 250° (ideal for brittle hair) to 450° (hot enough to straighten extremely thick or wavy hair).
Heats up quickly and works great at straightening my hair.
I love it heats up quick and turns its self off too.
it heats instantly and easy to handle. I love it
I absolutely love this my friend had one and I wanted one so bad so I could use it to curl my long a hair without using a straight iron and a curling iron.. This is simple to use and best purchase investment ever lol
Heat levels are most important, and everything else is tied for second place. The true benefit of these appliances is that lower temperatures are suitable for easily-damaged or thin-to-medium hair, so it’s crucial that they’re able to operate at the appropriate temperatures. 365° is considered optimal for medium-thick hair, and straightening very thin or brittle hair calls for temperatures closer to 300°. Some models also have settings as high as 450° for use on very thick or very curly hair.
From the time of the Roman Empire until the Middle Ages, most women grew their hair as long as it would naturally grow. It was normally little styled by cutting, as women's hair was tied up on the head and covered on most occasions when outside the home with a snood, kerchief or veil; for an adult woman to wear uncovered and loose hair in the street was often restricted to prostitutes. Braiding and tying the hair was common. In the 16th century, women began to wear their hair in extremely ornate styles, often decorated with pearls, precious stones, ribbons and veils. Women used a technique called "lacing" or "taping," in which cords or ribbons were used to bind the hair around their heads. During this period, most of the hair was braided and hidden under wimples, veils or couvrechefs. In the later half of the 15th century and on into the 16th century a very high hairline on the forehead was considered attractive, and wealthy women frequently plucked out hair at their temples and the napes of their necks, or used depilatory cream to remove it, if it would otherwise be visible at the edges of their hair coverings. Working-class women in this period wore their hair in simple styles.

My hair is naturally wavy so most of the time I let it air dry and I walk around looking like I am wearing a nest on my head. Straightening my hair goes a long way in avoiding that look. The straightener that I usually use is manufactured by a popular company starts with an r and cost a mere 22. I think that the differences between this more expensive brand and the one I usually use are insignificant. This styler heats quickly. So does the cheaper model. This styler straightens hair adequately. So does the cheaper model. The only differences are that the ghd classic 1 inch styler has a longer cord with a built in gfci device and remote test reset unit and is about an inch and a half longer which puts your hand further from the heat. In summary this model and brand of hair straightener heats up and straightens no better than a much cheaper model but does seem safer from an electrical heat standpoint. Except maybe for professionals I'm not sure that the significant cost difference over 100 is worth the additional safety features.
