In many cultures, including Hindu culture and among the Wayana people of the Guiana highlands, young people have historically shaved off their hair to denote coming-of-age. Women in India historically have signified adulthood by switching from wearing two braids to one. Among the Rendille of north-eastern Kenya and the Tchikrin people of the Brazilian rainforest, both men and women shave their heads after the death of a close family member. When a man died in ancient Greece, his wife cut off her hair and buried it with him, and in Hindu families, the chief mourner is expected to shave his or her head 3 days after the death.
I had read several reviews saying that the ghd stylers were fakes. But I chose to purchase one direct from amazon.com not one of the 3rd parties and it is authentic. I just got done registering it on ghd's website and everything went through just fine. I am also in love with this styler it heats up in just a few seconds and it smoothes my hair with ease I would recommend this flat iron to anyone
being a bald old feller its reasonably obvious that I ordered these for my wife who over the years has become something of an expert on hair styling equipment and has been the guinea pig for this product so her thoughts on this styler....her immediate reaction was ghd they are the best make ever secondly it is a lovely looking styler and is beautifully boxed with a heat resistant protective plate guard for the blade ends and a heat resistant travel bag.my wife was truly amazed at the short heat up time the advertising says 25 seconds she says that it is almost immediate in use there are no problems though she did say that perhaps the plates could be larger otherwise no issues.so to the real nitty gritty....my question was... Would you buy this styler her reply.. No its far too expensive and even though it heats up really quickly basically its no better than cheaper stylers
Thick, coarse hair can withstand high heat AND it responds better to it. Using high heat also means that you minimize the number of passes you’ll make which will benefit your hair’s health. You’ll want a hair straightener that has adjustable heat settings with a maximum temperature reaching the 400-degree range like the HAI Beauty Concepts 1.25″ Classic Convertable Flat Iron.
I have fine hair but this is the only straightener that works so amazing totally worth every penny
Ordered on 15 dec 2016 got it today warrenty garanteed and validated 18 dec2016 for 2 years
The current temperature is shown on the LCD screen, and the screen changes the color depending on how high the temperature is. According to the instructions, the blue one is for fine or fragile hair (0-370°F), the green one is for medium or wavy hair (375-395°F), and the red one is for coarse, resistant hair (400-425°F). The mode button also helps you to choose the right heat level for your hair type.
This hair straightener works wonderfully. Even when my friends use my straightener they always compliment how smoothly it works. I love that it turns off by itself because I have had times where I have left it on. I also use this straightener to curl my hair and I get compliments on how that looks as well. Ghd is best way to go with hair straighteners in my opinion.
used ghds for years. I wouldn't use any other straightners. Love them.
good price for ghd's so very pleased
Great styler but I was not able to register it with ghd. Pretty disappointed. They said that does not mean it's not authentic just that I did not buy it from an approved dealer.
I received the classic styler by ghd today and it is 100 authentic. I registered it on the ghd website and the registration was confirmed. This styler retails for 185 and amazon had it for 109.it works great make sure to order from amazon and not a third party.
I was told by my stylist to get this flat iron because my chi was totally worn out. I was a little skeptical after reading reviews that some were fakes but I ordered the sold by amazon one and I was able to register it at ghd's website. I am definitely so happy that I chose to get this styler. It is awesome. It's the one and done styler. I don't have to keep going over and over my hair to get it straight so I know it's better for my hair overall. Plus you can't beat the fact that it turns itself off after 30 minutes. It takes away my did I remember to turn it off fear every time I left the house after straightening my hair. I also have really curly hair and this makes my hair soft smooth and shiny. Definitely recommend
These are my 2nd pair of ghd s and I wouldn t buy anything else. They are definately the best. They don t pull on your hair like some cheaper straighteners and they heat up really quick. They last for years my first pair which are still working fine were bought in 2008 10 10
“Infrared is so beneficial being that the wavelengths are longer and can penetrate deeper into the cuticle heating the hair from the inside out, keeping your hair's own natural moisture, leaving the hair smooth (and) shiny and keeping it extremely healthy, versus other conventional styling tools that actually pull moisture out of the hair, leaving the hair dry, brittle, dull and damaged,” said hair expert and stylist Gina Rivera.
Ask any seasoned hair stylist for a flat iron recommendation, and you will hear the same brand time and time again: CHI. Known the world over as a leader in hair care and styling, CHI is your go-to name for salon results at home. While CHI offers a variety of designs (and fun colors!) to choose from, the brand’s G2 Ceramic and Titanium model is what caught our eye when researching the best hair straightener. This hair straightener is packed with high-tech features and an upgraded, ergonomic design for the shiniest and straightest ‘do you’ve ever seen!
These would be an ideal christmas gift as they are presented in a smart black and gold box with a lovely black padded storage bag and heat resistant mat heatproof guard paddle brush and hair clips.once the straighteners are plugged in they will beep when turned on and then beep again after a couple of seconds when they are ready to use and it is a couple of seconds they heat up so quickly I have never used ghd’s before so all I can say is ‘you get what you pay for ‘. They heat up so quickly and they glide through your hair. There was no pulling and you don’t have to use any resistance or even go over the same piece of hair time and time again.the only negative I can think of is the price they are very expensive and there are a lot of cheaper alternatives.however I think they are definitely worth paying for.
Bought these on the recommendation of nearly every female I know and I haven't been disappointed they arrived promptly well wrapped and I checked them on the official ghd site straight away. I have had sleek straight hair ever since...... They heat up quickly and the flashing light is a great guide to help remind to switch them off. A great price too considering most pairs I've seen are well over 100 quid.
