I brought these for my sister for her birthday in april. She lives the other side of the country so I had to get them delivered straight to her. The delivery was very fast and they left out the receipt as requested gift option so my sister wouldn't know how much they cost. She's been wanting a set of ghds for years and has had disappointment with 2 sets of fakes so the first thing she did was register them on the ghd website and all genuine she's since told me that they were definitely worth the wait they're easy to use quick to heat up and turn off after a while if you forget to turn them off which is very good for her since she forgets half the time definitely worth the money.
There is a real risk of damaging your hair if you use a flat iron or hairbrush straightening tool on wet hair (or even damp hair if you have thin hair and are not extremely careful). The quick application of heat on wet hair brings the water within the hair follicle to a quick boil, the bubbles are then pushed out resulting in split ends and cracks in the hair. At the same time, essential vitamins and minerals are forced out which further adds to the problem, reducing the hairs natural elasticity which can lead to further brittleness and breakages. All of these issues can be further compounded if you have any residual product in your hair (especially any products containing alcohol) as these chemicals are boiled into the hair follicle.

Very well presented straightener that is fairly heavy and robust. My partner had a ghd for many years before this and was always really happy. This is even better. It comes with a nice bag but not much else. It heats up fast and does a really good job. I hope this will be just as relaible as her previous ghd model.
Less common but still worth mentioning are “hybrid” styles of hair brush straighteners. Some are similar to a flat iron but with bristles on each of the plates, while others have a rotating barrel on one side and a plate with bristles on the other. You’ll also see lots of inexpensive, non-heated straightener brushes, but we won’t be focusing on those in our reviews.

Love this brand very happy
the order came quickly and as I live in france I found the plug system smart the straightener does wonders in very little time even though I have long hair I no longer need a brush and either a third hand to hold the mirror while doing my hair at the back of my head or twist my head and hands so as to hold brush plus hair dryer to do the back. I just hold a mirror in one hand stand back to the mirror and with the other hand hold the ghd which I just keep passing through my hair until it looks silky. A marvel thanks ghd
It is one of the best straighteners I've ever used. Its lightweight and takes literally 15 seconds to heat up. Works perfectly and would not trade it for any other straightener.
pricey yes but what can I say daughter swears by ghd's no substitute no point buying cheaper brands. If she's happy then so am i. Her second paid of ghd's in 10 years so good value.
You may as well wear a sign that says “SLIPPERY WHEN WET” when styling with what’s affectionately called “hair grease.” Pomades give the appearance of high shine with a wet, “freshly-showered” look. This product is used for classic comb overs to slicked back, red-carpet looks. Traditionally pomades have been oil based and difficult to wash out, but over at Hanz de Fuko, we’ve fixed that problem...
At most times in most cultures, men have worn their hair in styles that are different from women's. American sociologist Rose Weitz once wrote that the most widespread cultural rule about hair is that women's hair must differ from men's hair.[38] An exception is the men and women living in the Orinoco-Amazon Basin, where traditionally both genders have worn their hair cut into a bowl shape. In Western countries in the 1960s, both young men and young women wore their hair long and natural, and since then it has become more common for men to grow their hair.[39] During most periods in human history when men and women wore similar hairstyles, as in the 1920s and 1960s, it has generated significant social concern and approbation.[40]
That’s what is so great about hair straighteners: these devices can give you salon-worthy curls or celebrity-inspired straight hair that can change just as easily as your mood if you’d like! Who knows, you just might love a change!

absolutely amazing I have long super thick curly hair and I couldn't believe how well the ghd worked. I've used a chi for years and the ghd is a million times better. One pass and my hair is super straight. I wish I had bought one years ago.

The Glamfields straightener, like most of our top-ranked models, releases negative ions to fight frizz while preventing split ends and knotting. Performance, though, sets it apart from the pack. Hair is straightened beautifully and quickly with the unit’s metal ceramic heater requiring just a 40-second warm-up, eliminating a long wait for the brush to reach temperature. And speaking of temperature, there are 12 heat settings ranging from 250° (ideal for brittle hair) to 450° (hot enough to straighten extremely thick or wavy hair).
I just wanted a 'cheap' pair of ghds and these have done the job. To be fair you are almost guarenteed a great product when you buy ghd whatever the model.

If being limited to only a handful of temperature settings isn’t really your cup of tea, look no further than the BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium Straightening Iron! This lightweight flat iron features a whopping 50 heat settings for hair types of all shapes, styles, textures, and colors making it one of the most versatile hair straighteners on our list.

I love this styler. Use it daily it heats up literally in seconds straightens my super thick frizzy hair very fast and as of yet has not caused noticeable damage. I absolutely think it's worth the money. Also I was able to register my product it was a genuine ghd.
Heat levels are most important, and everything else is tied for second place. The true benefit of these appliances is that lower temperatures are suitable for easily-damaged or thin-to-medium hair, so it’s crucial that they’re able to operate at the appropriate temperatures. 365° is considered optimal for medium-thick hair, and straightening very thin or brittle hair calls for temperatures closer to 300°. Some models also have settings as high as 450° for use on very thick or very curly hair.
The Revlon Perfect Heat works best on partially dry hair. Hot air blows from inside the brush while the soft bristles spin to take the curl out of your hair. Alternatively, you can leave the ends of your hair curly while straightening the rest. You can also turn off the spin function if desired. The added benefit of a unit that has hot air blown from the inside is that you don’t have to wait for the straightener to heat up.

you me the nicest greeting and thank you for your dealings upscalei will deal with you thanksi will deal with you
GHD’s “styler” is permanently set to 365 degrees Fahrenheit, which the company says is the highest temperature hair can tolerate before it becomes damaged. As a person who went from a dark brunette to blonde highlights, I can vouch for its straightening power on processed hair. And though I don’t typically think of “comfort” as a flat iron necessity, the springy hinge that connects the two plates really did make it easier to clamp and glide the tool down my hair with minimal effort.
holy crap this hair straighter is awesome heats up hella quick and does an amazing job I have super thick long hair and it works wonders I had no problem registering it with ghd. It is hands down the most impressive straighter I have ever used. I don't think its possible to love a hair product more than I love this thing.

wow purchased to replace existing ghd straighteners but these are even better.
