I'm absolutely in love with my GHD.I will never buy another brand again. It heats up super quick, glides through the hair like silk and takes alot less time as with previous straightners i've had to go over the same strand a few times and it left my hair frizzy/flyaway and meant i had to use products to smooth it down! I dont really need to use any products except hot iron spray or cream protectant and a tiny amount of serum afterwards. The GHD also curls my hair perfectly, now that ive mastered the technique ;-)
Looked around at new ones, checked reviews and other ghd models and decided (based on price mainly) that I would just buy the same ‘original’ one again. It’s great. Better results- smooth and straight with little effort - and quicker heat up than my old one - extremely quick. Much cheaper than the fancier models. Slim and easy to store away. Glad I went for this again.
Against the ghd Platinum Styler: On the other hand, the Platinum Styler features more sensors and heaters than the new ghd Gold. This essentially means it will heat the hair quicker, and is a little safer in terms of heat delivery, too. Six sensors and heaters work to deliver optimal heat to the hair, instinctively adjusting to give you a transformative experience. Where this is the top-of-the-range choice, the ghd Gold Professional Styler sits perfectly in the middle, a great mix of affordability and professional quality.
Top stylists, models and celebrities alike can’t live without their ghds, so you know you’re in good company when you add to your collection. Whether using your ghd styler to tame frizz for a day at your desk, or to curl locks for a night out on the town, ghd not only allows you to straighten your hair, but also twist, curl, flick, wave and bounce too. With ghd, the possibilities are endless.
Achieve seductive soft movement: Mist hair with ghd heat protect spray. Section the hair and lightly mist with a curl hold spray to add shine and hold when styling. Place a fine section of hair between the plates of your ghd Gold Styler vertically 1 inch away from the root. Gently close the styler with minimum tension. Turn the styler clockwise by 90 degrees. For a soft curl, pull the styler quickly through the hair away from the head in one continuous smooth movement. An s-shaped vertical curl is created. To complete the style, repeat through all sections. Finally, separate and brush out the curls with a wide-tooth comb.
To have straight hair, you just mist your hair with the GHD thermal protector. You then start at the part of the hair that’s closest to the roots, and then you glide the GHD Classic 1-inch Styler to the tips in one smooth stroke. You can also follow the easy directions for soft movement and for curls, which involve some turning while you glide from root to end.
Though it has no adjustable temperature setting but it automatically adjusts with your hair. You do not need to set the temperature. The ghd Classic 1 inch Styler iron never split ends and your hair would never look dry, frizzy and damaged. It gives you the shiner and silkier hair for its advanced ceramic heater skill. The ghd Classic 1 inch Styler iron takes a very short time to straighten your hair. Never pull out your hair.
Best flat iron, 2 year warranty when bought from the website. Don’t have to adjust any heat settings you just flip the switch on. Smooths out all hair textures hair really well! And if you forget to turn it off the heat element shuts off and the flat iron beeps at you until you manually push the switch to off which is amazing since lots of us forget to turn off our flat iron after use.
I'm absolutely in love with my GHD. I've been wanting to buy one for a few years now but was a bit hesitant paying $240 (Australian) so when i seen them on sale i thought i would bite the bullet! I will never buy another brand again (I've used remington and babyliss) it heats up super quick, glides through the hair like butter and takes much less time as with previous straightners i've had to go over the same strand a few times and it left my hair frizzy and needing heaps of product to smooth it down! Definetly worth the money, has 2 years warranty and barely need to use any products except hot iron spray and a tiny amount of moroccan oil. The product curls my hair perfectly and would have got the one with wider plates for my thick long hair but wanted to be able to use it to curl. A must buy for those that use a straightener often.
Inferior hair straighteners take a very long time to heat, and you really need to make sure that they’re on their highest setting to have any effect. But that means getting lots of split ends, and you hair often looks frizzy, dry, and generally unhealthy. And once you go outside, if ever you live in an area that’s a bit humid the straight hair quickly goes to its default pouf settings.

The styler has contoured, round edges to unleash undulating waves, and with its styling versatility, you can change your look every day.
For me, the first and still very best of all ceramic stylers [and my dad is a hairdresser too]. It heats up fast, cools down relatively fast, works wonderfully and lasts a long time. In 11 years, I've bought two such stylers. The first one eventually died after 6 years of daily use, rarely skipping a day, while my second one is still going strong. I have no reason to recommend any other styler but this one. My hair is long and very fine.
As mentioned earlier, the GHD classic Styler uses ceramic plates which heat up faster than other materials but it doesn’t emit negative ions like tourmaline flat irons, which doesn’t only straighten hairs smoothly but also makes dry and damaged hairs healthy by counteracting with positive ions. So, in terms of professional use and/or greatest results, GHD classic styler can’t be recommended. That is my personal opinion as an author. As an alternative, I can recommend you to read CHI Air hair iron review, it is tourmaline ceramic, and thus little more in price in comparison to classic styler.
