The heat can reach up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit; not as high as our other picks but definitely high enough for most hair types. However, for those with stubborn, coarse hair, you may want to look elsewhere for your hair styling needs. Also, this is one of the priciest hair straighteners we’ve tried so you’ll need to save a bit to splurge on this one.
I have extremely kinky curly hair. This flat iron is amazing best buy thus far. It is a little expensive but if you want your hair pin straight or even have nice curls buy this heats up in 2 seconds and takes me no time to straighten my hair. Hopefully it's durable and lasts.
This brand is a1 the best ever my hair is curly and it's the best one I got .i will never change this brand
An upgrade from their since discontinued Eclipse Styler, you won't be tempted to heat this flatiron up to 450 degrees, because the temperature dial is always stuck on one number: 365 (the ideal heat to mold hair without frying it, according to the scientists at GHD). Underneath each of those 365-degree plates are three fancy sensors that measure the density of the hair in the iron so that it can maintain consistent heat regardless of the chunk of hair you grab. The result? Silky, shiny hair with zero frizz.
Bought as christmas gift so not opened as such but bought my wife the last ghd straighteners 10 years ago and they are still going strong paid 40 more for latested ones purchased but 10 year no problems is remarkable and shows quality in product

The oldest known reproduction of hair braiding lies back about 30,000 years: the Venus of Willendorf, now known in academia as the Woman of Willendorf, of a female figurine from the Paleolithic, estimated to have been made between about 28,000 and 25,000 BCE.[8] The Venus of Brassempouy counts about 25,000 years old and indisputably shows hairstyling.
I love it it works perfectly.
Less common but still worth mentioning are “hybrid” styles of hair brush straighteners. Some are similar to a flat iron but with bristles on each of the plates, while others have a rotating barrel on one side and a plate with bristles on the other. You’ll also see lots of inexpensive, non-heated straightener brushes, but we won’t be focusing on those in our reviews.
Ghd reputation is unquestionable. This styler is the best and there isn't much more to say good value for money from this supplier.

so the nice thing about this one is that it does heat up very fast and it has a fast recovery rate. I have thick curly hair not wavy. So for me it works. However the curls do start to show alittle resistance by the end of the day. This model as one temp max of I think 380 degrees isn't hot enough for my hair. I think I need like 400 degrees. However the brand itself has been awesome as the plates on it doesn't caulk up with products and doesn't snag my hair. It is definitely better than anything you can buy at a store. I am okay to use it but if it breaks I will find one with a temperature settings.
We usually roll our eyes at oil-infused heat tools — but you can actually watch this oil being sucked right out of the refillable cartridge in the handle. When you press the iron closed over your strands, the oil vapor seeps through tiny holes to condition and straighten your hair. And don't worry fine-haired friends: It made our tester's hair silkier, but not like she'd dipped it in an oil vat.
repeat purchase. First one died after 5 years. Hopefully this will last that long.
love love love I cant say enough good things about this product. I bought this as a replacement for one that was given to me 9 years ago. I plan to have this one for another 9 years such a high quality item
Bought this as a gift for my girlfriend. She loves it. Got it for cheaper than they sell the same one at those make up stores in the mall.
replacement for my girlfriend's straighteners her old model broke due to her accidentally dropping them down the stairs.previously straighteners were the best she has ever used guess what they were yup ghd iv stylershe won't use any others. Can't really comment anything else as I don't have enough hair to use them myself but she won't use any others

In the early 1870s, in a shift that historians attribute to the influence of the West,[26] Japanese men began cutting their hair into styles known as jangiri or zangiri (which roughly means "random cropping").[27] During this period, Asian women were still wearing traditional hairstyles held up with combs, pins and sticks crafted from tortoise, metal, wood and other materials,[14] but in the middle 1880s, upper-class Japanese women began pushing back their hair in the Western style (known as sokuhatsu), or adopting Westernized versions of traditional Japanese hairstyles (these were called yakaimaki, or literally, soirée chignon).[27]

So, when it comes to hair care, it is no surprise that the healing benefits of infrared technology would make their way into the industry sooner or later! The far infrared technology in the CHI Air Expert Classic Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron leaves your hair looking and feeling smoother and silkier than ever before, while helping to restore your strands to their naturally strong and beautiful thickness.
this curling iron is awesome. It gets hot in seconds and holds the heat from start to finish. It is definitely worth the money I spent on it.
I've used these straighter for years and love them. They get so hot and I can do my thick hair in a few minutes. Plus they are salon level so have the extra long cord. However it sounds like you need to buy from the ghd website. I did and it arrived pretty fast about a week I think you know its genuine and the price is the same at 150.
I love it heats up quick and turns its self off too.

I would never recommend the InStyler to anyone! In fact, I think it’s positively dangerous and can’t believe that it hasn’t really changed since it first came out. It’s incredibly easy to burn yourself with this thing. There’s no protection at all from the hot barrel. Unless you have very thin hair or a personal stylist, this takes a long time to get to its claimed result of wet hair to styled hair. It takes much longer to use this on wet hair than the hot air brushes, like the Revlon you reviewed. The InStyler gets tangled in the hair very easily and is difficult to untangle without burning yourself somewhere. If you mostly dry the hair first, then very neatly section it, then use the InStyler carefully with a heat protective glove, you will eventually get about the same result as with any flat iron.

If you are unsure what exactly your hair type is (or if it has changed over the years, which happens more often than you’d think!), check out this incredible overview by the hair professionals at Redken! Don’t stress if you have combination hair (i.e., fine and curly or thin and straight) either; we recommend choosing a hair straightener based on your biggest hair complaint and focusing on that problem first. So, if your curls are driving your nuts, you will want to select a hair straightener with higher temperatures, thin hair needs moisture, etc. You’ll find that your entire hair type can usually benefit from the extra TLC!
Just bought a new ghd straightener. I have an old one 12 years old and ghd is not available in my country so I decided to buy a new one if the older one would die . I have used the old one everyday sometimes 2x a day for 12 years and I absolutely love it. I have been trying the new one and it is a litle bit different seems to weigh a litle bit less and has a sound effect when it is turned on. I feel like the new one is to smooth but that could be because the old one is very old and has a different feel and the plates are more used. But both of them give me very straight hair. I was very skeptical when reading the reviews on amazon....is it fake or not. My conclusion is that this is not fake and the best hair straightener ever. I have long curly frizzy hair and it takes me under 5 minutes to straighten my hair. I have tried many brands over the years and I have to say that ghd is the best of the best.
This set contains a ghd gold styler a heatproof plate guard a heat resistant mat a zip bag that contains a paddle brush and two large hair clips the zip bag press studs onto the mat and the whole lot rolls together for storage . This comes in a gorgeous gift presentation box that has a hidden magnetic fastening you may want to keep this to store it in as everything fits so nicely. Anyone who received this as a present should really appreciate it.the included instructions are brief and whilst they tell you how to turn the styler on and off and cover health and safety information they do not tell you how to get the best out of the styler or how to actually use it on your hair. The assumption seems to be you already know how to straighten your hair because you already have a ghd styler or you've used another brand before. I think this is a shame and seems a bit of an oversight as this gift set could be someone's first styler. I've had cheaper straighteners in the past which had quite a detailed page on how to get the best out of the straighteners . Yes you can find this information on the internet and on youtube but sometimes it's just nice to have it there to read when you open the box.having said that they do reach temperature quickly and straighten well you can tell why it's the brand leader. My previous straighteners you could alter the temperature but I'm quite happy with how these work at a set temperature and it's one less thing to faff around with. It has a 30 minute safety cut off for me this time could be shorter but at least it does have a cut off. I love that it comes with both a heat proof mat so many products just don't seem to and the heat proof plate guard as well.overall a gorgeous hair straightening gift set that anyone not already owning a ghd styler would love to have provided they do want to straighten their hair.

love this straightener I used to use chi brand and per my hairdresser they sold out a while back and have gone downhill in quality so she suggested I get this brand. So far it is great for my naturally curly thick hair
This straightener is amazing. Although it only has one heat setting it heats up immediately and gets the job done. It doesn't feel like it's frying my hair. I love it.
my girlfriend has wanted some of these for ages so I got her some for christmas. Guys...if you need to buy one present for your lady then get these I couldn't have chosen better she wanted me to give this rating 5.5 stars

The one I got was real and I've had it for 2 years now I love it
you can't go wrong with a ghd. Ready to use in seconds and it straightens perfectly
Hey there! My name is Juliet but my friends call me Jules, so you’re more than welcome to! Thanks for stopping by my site which I’ve put together to help people like yourself pick out a flat iron. Irons can be confusing if you have never owned one before (and even if you have). Whether you’re a newbie or a veteran, when it’s time to get a new iron the sheer amount of information can get more than a little overwhelming. I’ve done my best to sort through all of it here so you don’t feel like you’re buried under an indiscriminate amount of styling tools.
although they are selling a red version on their own website today for slightly less. So if you thought this was too cheap to be an authentic product don't worry. It isn't.
You can select the required heat level from 170°F to 450°F which means this hair straightener suits for all hair types. For me, this is the best straightening iron for thick curly hair.  It heats up in about 30 seconds, and the current temperature is shown on the LCD. This KIPOZI ion straightener comes in rose pink, and its slick design is just great.
This straightener is awesome especially if you travel. Unlike the chi you do not need a converter in europe. Just plug in an adapter and you are set
The current temperature is shown on the LCD screen, and the screen changes the color depending on how high the temperature is. According to the instructions, the blue one is for fine or fragile hair (0-370°F), the green one is for medium or wavy hair (375-395°F), and the red one is for coarse, resistant hair (400-425°F). The mode button also helps you to choose the right heat level for your hair type.
ghd quality is well known. My wife has had a set of ghd for years. She alternated to a set of braun for a while which worked really well but eventually gave up the ghost. The only problem we had with the ghd was with the mains cable. We have replaced that twice. It was a bit of a faff but you tube came to the rescue and it was a cheap fix about 7 if I recall correctly .those old ghd's were just the straighteners but this is a really good set with a heat map a case and a very good quality brush. You often see these bundles with other things but whereas in those cases the accessories look cheap these are top notch too. They haven't cut any corners so full marks for that.
Some people may cover their hair totally or partially for cultural or religious reasons. Notable examples of head covering include women in Islam who wear the hijab, married women in Haredi Judaism who wear the sheitel, married Himba men who cover their hair except when in mourning, Tuareg men who wear a veil, and baptized men and women in Sikhism who wear the dastar.
So in the last two years I had been using chi straightens...both broke within a year. My next instinct was to do some flat iron research and came up with the ghd gold flat iron. The price made me nervous being that I've never tried it yet however I was desperate and knew that it would somewhat meet my needs. It's been a month that I've been using this heaven sent product and I have absolutely no regrets.it warms up in literally 10 seconds and gives you a beeping sound when it's ready. One slide through the hair will give you a straight look. I have semi wavy hair so I just apply my heat protectant and flat iron sections and within 15 minutes I'm done you won't regret this purchase. It's also dual voltage which helps me out big time due to travelling.
This is my second iron with the first one lasting more than 5 years. I specially chose this brand because of the plug circuit breaker since the model I had before this one burned my bangs. I've never had a problem with this model and absolutely feel the price is equivalent to it's quality. Also if you take care of your iron your iron will not disappoint you.
I bought these for two reasons my trusty babyliss straighteners died and I was just about to take a trip to america. Rather than buy two pairs for the different voltages I invested in these dual voltage ghds and am extremely pleased. Light and easy to use heat up and cool down very quickly. Only one heat setting but they work absolutely fine on my curly hair and I find I don't need to do it every day unless my hair gets damp but that's the joy of natural curls lol. Worked exactly the same on the american voltage with an adaptor for the plug. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend these if you need to replace your current straighteners. Maybe a little pricey but you get what you pay for with this type of electrical item.

If your daughter is keen to straighten her hair, then I would suggest taking things slow and erring on the side of caution to avoid any potential damage to her hair. How you care for her hair is probably just as important as whether you go for a hairbrush straightener or a flat iron. I have listed some hair care tips below which will hopefully help you and your daughter.
I have owned a ghd flat iron for about 3years. My daughter borrowed it on a daily basis. Decided to get her one of her own for christmas. I highly recommend the ghd.
Nbsp in the attached video I explain how to register your flat iron and check for authenticity that you are actually receiving an actual ghd product. I was quite surprised to see so many negative reviews stating that they received a fake product. Many went on to talk about holes on the cord and the prong and where it is made but actually those are old posts on the internet and the only sure way is by going to ghd website and registering your product. Even at the ghd website some of the illustrations were out of date which I point out in the video. By entering the halogram sticker unique code and date code of your product you will be emailed to let you know if your product is genuine.now let me discuss about the benefits of the flat iron itself. I have tried numerous brands of flat irons. From hot tools fhi chi hai chameleon to sedu. This is my first ghd brand and I am happy I got to try it out. The ghd classic 1 inch styler uses ceramic plate technology which helps reduce breakage and damage to the hair because the ceramic can glide through your hair without pulling it. It also maintains an even temperature throughout the plates with no cold spots which means less passing on the hair.the ghd has actual ceramic plates and not aluminum plates that are ceramic coated which in time will wear off chip and peel. Ceramic produces negative ions. Dry or damaged hair has positive ions. When you use the ghd ceramic flat iron you are applying negative to positive so you counteracting and balancing the condition of your hair. The negative ions will make your hair smoother silkier and shiny.however what is missing tourmaline. Tourmaline also emits negative but has far infrared heat. It can get rid of odors and pollutants. When tourmaline is heated it can produce more negative ions than plain ceramic plates. This means means far more less damage by locking in your hairs own moisture and minimizing frizz static electricity and flyaways. That is why I give this flat iron four stars instead of five. I prefer a flat iron that has both ceramic and tourmaline technology like the sedu pro ionic ceramic tourmaline flat iron. Not that this flat iron is a bad choice but my sedu is my all time favorite and rated 5 stars and more.
I initially thought this was a copy but it seems to be 100 original. Strangely it does not come with the box or the dvd but otherwise matches the descriptions from others. A quick run through you tube and you can see all of the different styling options easily enough anyway. Have had this for quite a few months now and it still works good as new.

Hair breakage is an all too common problem, and even the most seasoned of hair stylists can slip up from time to time. That’s why LumaBella’s Keratin Duel Touch Hair Straightener features a unique smart heat sensor. This nifty little gadget can actually tell when there is too much heat for your hair, and will automatically adjust to a safer styling temperature!
Love love love this styler. I have very fine curly hair that requires washing or wetting every day to get the curls out. Now I can just re straighten it dry when ever I need a quick touch up. Never before had so many compliments.
This lightweight styler heats up quickly and has 20 temperature settings for all hair types which reach a top temperature of 230 degrees; making it ideal for people who have thicker or curlier hair. The inclusion of a long swivel cord makes it easy to move the styler around your head so you can fully straighten the hair at the back. Because of the shape of the plates, you can use them to smooth the hair down for perfectly sleek hair, or use their curved edges for gorgeous curls.
I would recommend this product to any lady that regularly straightens her hair. Product gets hot quick and turns off after about 30 minutes of no use. Simply the best straightener I've ever had.

I don’t think the flat iron as a styling tool needs any introduction, and many of you have probably used one at some point. I know how hard it is to pick the perfect styling tool for your hair – at least, the one that’s good enough. So, to make it a bit easier for you, I’ve decided to draw up a list of top 10 flat irons. It’s based on both, my own experience and other people’s flat irons reviews. So, I’m trying to be objective and bias-free here.

I have not used this item nor will I given my hair is only about an inch long however I am sure my wife will use it after she gets it as a christmas present.i only wanted to post this review to say I had a concern that the product might be a knockoff even though it was coming straight from amazon but I registered it with ghd and it is a legit product. I will update the review later when she uses it. Hope this helps other buyers
The InfinitiPro by Conair has extra-long 1-inch tourmaline ceramic floating plates with 30 different heat settings (maximum heat is 455 degree Fahrenheit) and an extra long swivel line cord. It is perfect for creating silky smooth, straight hair or shiny curls. You can use it whether you’re hair is delicate, medium, or thick and hard-to-straighten. AND it has an automatic shut-off feature. It only takes 15 seconds to heat up which means that you can style your hair pretty quickly. However, like our first pick, the settings do not indicate the temperature. Also, the handle can get very warm. The plates also do not completely close unless you put quite a bit of pressure on them. It also doesn’t feature a safety latch that will keep the flat iron closed when you put it down while it’s still hot.

The nano ceramic plates in this straightener deliver far-infrared heat, a gentler alternative in and of itself. As if that weren't enough, there's also a reservoir where you can pour in some of the (included) argan treatment and thermal protectant, creating a conditioning steam that will strengthen and safeguard strands while you straighten. Admittedly an extra step, sure, but one that's well worth it.
I started this site after I made the decision to get a new hair straightener. I am not a novice with irons by any means, and I’ve had just about every kind imaginable except for some of the newest options. When I realized how far the industry had come in the last couple of years, I decided it was time to try something new. A good flat iron can last for years, as long as you look after it and make sure you buy one that’s robust enough to take what you put it through. By doing your homework up front, you can make sure you not only get the right straightener for your locks, but you don’t end up spending an inordinate amount of money on something that doesn’t work for you. Believe me, I’ve been there!
the ghd classic 1 inch styler is the bomb it heats up in seconds after being turned on feels balanced and streamlined in my hand has a swivel cord that never gets tangled and safety guards at the tip to prevent accidental burns. I can now style my long hair in half the time it formerly took.
Very quick to heat up and they are much hotter than any other styler I have used. Love that they can be used when travelling abroad with dual voltage. Thanks to my sister for recommending this product.
This product is the real deal very pleased with it. I had it registered on the official site of ghd and its the real deal
Great purchase

bought for my wife to replace the last pair of ghd. She loves them
