I own the GHD V Sapphire Styler and I am in love with it. It straightens through my medium to fine , puffy curly hair nicely reducing it to a sleek , straight and soft state. The box it comes in is really petty and you usually can purchase the iron as part of a set with another product such as a comb to styling spray, depending on where you get it from. It can be petty expensive but will last you the best part of a decade. The styler is create to curl, wave to straighten your hair and it heats up really fast and glides through your hair magically. However it makes it alittle bit trickier to curl/wave hair because it doesn't have much grip on your hair but usually the straighteners will gain alittle more grip the longer you use them (what I found with my iv styler).

The secret to ghd's straightening success lies in those ceramic plates, which are rounded to let savvy users create curls and waves as well as the classically sleek poker-straight look. The plates smooth your hair as they straighten, calming frizz and leaving you with gorgeously glossy locks. The safety-conscious sleep mode means that they'll switch themselves off after 30 minutes, and since they're available in a wide range of colours including pink, purple, black and blue, you can even choose a style that matches your bedroom. All of ghd's straighteners and stylers come with cords at least 2.7m long, giving you the flexibility to position them within easy reach of a full-length mirror.
It did get straight and it didn't pull or drag on my hair which was nice, but it took twice as long as it usually does (and lately i've been using a $35 flat iron I got from Amazon!) due to the fact that I had to go over and over it in increasingly smaller sections. I already use thin sections so this was just ridiculous. What annoyed me was that even after all this my hair remained poufy and never really got that shine I usually get. My hair btw, isn't even curly it's more wavy/frizzy/poufy--so I don't require tons of product or anything like that bc straightening my hair has always been an easy no-fuss affair. Usually, it takes like, one pass to get'er done.
Upon learning about the new ghd Gold, one question quickly came to mind when the intrigue settled down — how does the new product stack up against ghd’s other models? If you’re a longtime fan of the brand, you will have seen numerous stylers hit the market to rave reviews, so it can get a little confusing when it comes down to making that big choice.

Bought these on recommendation of my hairdresser to deal with my chemo damaged hair. Thankfully I didn't lose my hair but it did go really thin during treatment. 18 months on from treatment my once fine, straight and easily managed hair has come back in thick with random curly and wavy bits. My old straighteners which had served me well over the years were snagging, pulling and breaking both the damaged and newly growing hair but these ones glide through the hair with hardly any breakage. I purchased this ghd after a hairdresser friend used hers on my hair. I couldn't believe how well it worked so I purchased the same model. I have curly frizzy hair and this straightener actually makes my hair shiny and even holds my hair straight if my hair gets wet in the rain. I use a hair straightening treatment on my hair before I use the ghd as you should with any straightener and this keeps my hair from becoming brittle. I have lovely comments about my hair since using it. It feels very soft and is healthy. I can adjust the heat setting so it does not get too hot. It is very quick to heat up and beeps when it is ready unlike others I have tried .It is so simple and quick to use. Because it is the wider ghd I can do my hair in less than five minutes. I have long hair past my shoulders. Very happy with this one.

This is an expensive straightener, but it's worth every penny! I've had mine now for over a year, and I know I'll have it for many years to come. The iron itself is black and gold. I have long, thick, straight hair, but it gets a little wavy underneath if I let it air dry. If I blow dry it, it gets a little poofy and I use this to give it a more smooth, sleek look. It takes a couple passes of going over my hair before it's completely straight, but with cheaper ones it takes longer. It doesn't take too long to do all of my hair. It heats up super fast, and if I'm in a hurry and forget to turn it off, it turns off by itself after thirty minutes. I have dropped it a few times, and it's still going strong. I recommend this for everyone.

This is my second hair straightener. My first was a Babyliss and I did not manage to do some nice curls, the Babyliss did not glide through the hair. This GHD feels professional. The heating goes very fast. It is quiet hard to learn how to do the perfect curls with this straightener but I hope to learn the technique some day! I noticed that it is easier to do curls on other peoples hair than your own. I have to practice. And I hope this styler will last forever!

Achieve stunning curls: Mist hair with ghd heat protect spray. Section the hair and lightly mist with a curl hold spray. This will help give hold when creating each curl. Place a fine section of hair between the plates of your ghd Classic Styler vertically 1 inch away from the root. Gently close the styler with minimum tension. Turn the styler clockwise by 90 degrees; continue to turn the styler by another 90 degrees as you glide from root to end. For an intense curl, pull the styler very slowly away from the head in a continuous smooth movement. An s-shaped vertical curl is created. To complete the style, repeat through all sections. Finally, separate and brush out the curls with your fingers.
To achieve straight, sleek locks: Mist hair with GHD Heat Protect Spray (sold separately) and place a fine section of dry hair between the plates of your GHD Professional Styler. Ensure that the styler is as close to the root as possible before closing the plates. Gently move toward the tip of the section in one simple gliding motion. Repeat the process with each section of hair, gliding once from roots to ends.
