This edition of ghd has luxury christmas present written all over it plus points impressive packaging that is eye catching made of heavy cardboard and signalling a luxury product.quilted case with mirrored blue button and separator for the straighteners and it’s flex to be kept separately.quality heat may that is detachable from the case.beautifully designed straighteners in the same electric blue as the packaging with a silicone heat shield at the end.safety features cut off after 30 mins and a noise alerts you to them being plugged in being switched on or being switched off.the switch is inside the straightener so that you don’t accidentally turn it off as you are straightening your hair.plates glide through hair creating straightness without effort and as they are at the optimum 185 degrees without that crimped look at the top where you first inserted the plates.improvements that would’ve made it a 5 I needed a slightly longer flex maybe another 1 2 metre.i miss the option to choose the temperature that I had on my old straighteners. I appreciate their advice about 185 degrees being the setting that works best but I have very fine hair which is also frizzy and like to have a choice so that I can accommodate what my hair is up to that day.
If you are looking for volume for your fine hair then I would recommend the Vidal Sassoon VSHA6471UK which is a superb hot air styler.  Designed especially to give lift and volume from the root it will give you enviable curls and waves.  It is supplied with two brush sizes 19mm and 25mm so it’s ideal for shorter styles too (use the smaller brush) and gives a pleasing smooth finish that is tangle free.  You cannot fault the price either, on Amazon.co.uk this retails below the price of a salon blow-out.
If you’re a hair straightening novice, you may be a little intimidated during the first few times you use your new flat iron. These feelings are totally normal (after all, you are putting 300+ degrees of heat right near your scalp!), but there is no need to worry. All you have to do is follow these simple steps and you will have the gorgeous, flowing hair you’ve always dreamt of in no time!
I had heard from a number of people that the ghd was the goddess of straighteners but I must admit I was sceptical. I bought a cheap straightener a few years ago and rarely used it as it took ages to heat up and wasn't very effective. Finally having had enough of looking a mess I decided to go for it and try the ghd and I'm delighted to report it lives up to its reputation. It heats in a matter of seconds and it glides through my hair quickly and smoothly.one little niggle for me is that ghd didn't supply a little bag to store the straighteners considering the price surely they could have thrown one in for the sake of customer contentment however apart from that it's a first rate implement.i got compliments the first time I used it mind you I had been looking like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards up to then. So thanks ghd for unveiling the new sleek me
One of the biggest problems you will face when using a heated hair styling tool is overheating. We’ve all been there: you’re casually straightening your hair when a particularly funny scene comes up on the show you have playing in the background. After a solid minute or two of laughter, you realize (in utter horror!) that your poor hair has been sandwiched in between a couple of hot plates the entire time.
repeat purchase. First one died after 5 years. Hopefully this will last that long.
I absolutely love this my friend had one and I wanted one so bad so I could use it to curl my long a hair without using a straight iron and a curling iron.. This is simple to use and best purchase investment ever lol
Great price for ghd
I recently just had a funeral for my ghd classic 1 inch hair straightener after one of the blades stopped heating. I have had this hair straightner for almost 4 years longer than any of my relationships. It is absolutely amazing and I am defintiely buying another. I have went through all kinds of straighteners such as chi and paul mitchell. A chi will only last me a year. After a couple chi's this was confirmed case. I used my ghd every day and I dropped it religiously and it has lasted much longer than expected. My mother and younger sister have the same ghd that I used and is currently four years old too and is still working. It is worth the price by far and the quality and durablility is great. It also comes with a two year warranty which is twice as long as most. It heats up in a snap and it shuts off automatically if I accidently leave it on. I have thick curly horse like hair and this thing makes it pretty. I will continue to cry on the inside until my new ghd comes in. Love you ghd
wife's happy
I tried my friend's ghds before purchasing as I didn't believe the hype. How wrong could I be they are so much better than all the previous pairs I have owned and are well worth the price... And I only straighten my fringe which takes about 20 seconds
