I have not used this item nor will I given my hair is only about an inch long however I am sure my wife will use it after she gets it as a christmas present.i only wanted to post this review to say I had a concern that the product might be a knockoff even though it was coming straight from amazon but I registered it with ghd and it is a legit product. I will update the review later when she uses it. Hope this helps other buyers
In short YES! You absolutely can use too much heat on your hair. Burning hair is not a good smell, it’s not a good look either! You may end up having to get a pretty severe haircut if you’re not careful about the amount of heat you put directly on your locks. Read through this to get an idea of what’s safe and what will leave you wishing for a good trim (or possibly a wig).
During the 1920s and 1930s, Japanese women began wearing their hair in a style called mimi-kakushi (literally, "ear hiding"), in which hair was pulled back to cover the ears and tied into a bun at the nape of the neck. Waved or curled hair became increasingly popular for Japanese women throughout this period, and permanent waves, though controversial, were extremely popular. Bobbed hair also became more popular for Japanese women, mainly among actresses and moga, or "cut-hair girls," young Japanese women who followed Westernized fashions and lifestyles in the 1920s.[27]
very nice and does not burn my hair like prev flat iron
This hair brush straightener is well-designed and comfortable to hold, with a 360° swivel power cord that lets you position the brush at any angle you find optimal. It comes packaged with a heat-resistant glove, in a gorgeous gift box. And somewhat surprisingly for a high-end product, it’s priced very reasonably. The team had no trouble ranking the Glamfields brush at #1.
Less common but still worth mentioning are “hybrid” styles of hair brush straighteners. Some are similar to a flat iron but with bristles on each of the plates, while others have a rotating barrel on one side and a plate with bristles on the other. You’ll also see lots of inexpensive, non-heated straightener brushes, but we won’t be focusing on those in our reviews.
The ceramic plate on the FemJolie heats in just a minute or two, and the silicone tips on the bristles are quite comfortable on the scalp and gentle as they detangle, straighten and de-frizz. It’s important to note that this straightening brush is only designed to work on clean, dry hair; you won’t see the results you expect if you use it right after jumping out of the shower, and because it’s a flat brush it won’t add volume to your hair the way a barrel model would.
This is the best flat iron ive ever had in my life I have long hair and although its a 1 inch it straightens my hair like nobodys business I love the way it heats up fast and not only that the first time you try it by whatever hair type you have it will adjust the heat for your type of hair and my hair is super thick wavy and frizzy. So yes it works best flat iron and I heard about this flat iron from the best professional hair and make up stylist in the world kandee johnson.
I previously owned a basic chi for about 4 years until it recently stopped working. I bought this one after using a friend's ghd styler and I love it it does a much better job than my chi ever did and my hair stays straight for longer
Excellent product
So, which ones are worth their weight? HSI Professional's flat iron hair straightener, $39.36, has more than earned a mention, with over 21,000 five-star reviews on Amazon. The ceramic-plate iron has won over its fans because of how quickly it heats up, how smoothly it straightens hair (no painful snags!), and how long the results last. One reviewer says it works well enough to keep hair smooth for up to four days, while another claims it's more effective than a much more expensive alternative. The kit sold on Amazon also comes with a travel pouch, hot tool glove, and a sample argan oil hair treatment, so you'd be getting more than your money's worth with this cheap pick.
It wasn't possible to register my ghd flat iron purchased from an amazon reseller with the manufacturer. I'm 99 sure this is not an authorized re sale from ghd. This could mean a number of things... Nevertheless I love this flat iron which seems to work extremely well. I decided to take my chances with this version of the ghd classic styler.
my daughter is loving having ghd for the first time and am loving it so she stops using mine
works like a charm
The RUSK Professional Straight Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy frizz-free, kink-free, smooth, silky, straight hair. Now, this baby makes use of ceramic and tourmaline infused plates along with Sol-Gel technology which protects your hair from damage and makes your hair smooth and shiny. It’s very lightweight that you barely feel it as you use it. It gets hot pretty quickly and is really great at making curls.
If you are looking for volume for your fine hair then I would recommend the Vidal Sassoon VSHA6471UK which is a superb hot air styler.  Designed especially to give lift and volume from the root it will give you enviable curls and waves.  It is supplied with two brush sizes 19mm and 25mm so it’s ideal for shorter styles too (use the smaller brush) and gives a pleasing smooth finish that is tangle free.  You cannot fault the price either, on Amazon.co.uk this retails below the price of a salon blow-out.

I have purchased may flat irons in the past and the ghd is far superior than all others. Heats fast and turns offwithin 30 mins. If not in use. This is soo worth the money. Thanks amazon
this one doesn’t get as hot as the one I got at a beauty supply

The heat can reach up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit; not as high as our other picks but definitely high enough for most hair types. However, for those with stubborn, coarse hair, you may want to look elsewhere for your hair styling needs. Also, this is one of the priciest hair straighteners we’ve tried so you’ll need to save a bit to splurge on this one.
this is the real deal. I was able to register it on the ghd website with no problems.
Absolutely love these worth every single penny and more my hair is completely unruly and thick and it only took me 10 minutes to straighten. The best pair i’ve ever had

Love my ghd had it for 3 yrs and still perfect
So in the last two years I had been using chi straightens...both broke within a year. My next instinct was to do some flat iron research and came up with the ghd gold flat iron. The price made me nervous being that I've never tried it yet however I was desperate and knew that it would somewhat meet my needs. It's been a month that I've been using this heaven sent product and I have absolutely no regrets.it warms up in literally 10 seconds and gives you a beeping sound when it's ready. One slide through the hair will give you a straight look. I have semi wavy hair so I just apply my heat protectant and flat iron sections and within 15 minutes I'm done you won't regret this purchase. It's also dual voltage which helps me out big time due to travelling.
I've had this flat iron for 3.5 years now I ordered from this exact listing as well . I'm not sure if it's fake or real but either way it is the best flat iron I have ever used. I have fine thin hard to straighten and curl hair and it works perfect on me plus on my mom with thick curly hair. It is still working great so it lasts a long time. If it ever does go out on me I will be repurchasing the same one

Other factors may also be important to you, including the weight of the unit, how comfortable the handle feels in your hand, whether there is an LCD display and an automatic shut-off feature, and the length of the power cord. But remember: heat levels come first, because they determine whether your hair comes out straight, shiny and silky – or a damaged, fried mess. Everything else is secondary.

Was worried following some negative reviews about this not being a genuine ghd product. However product arrived with ghd tag with details on how to register with ghd. This was done on the official ghd website and ghd have verified the product.
