In many cultures, including Hindu culture and among the Wayana people of the Guiana highlands, young people have historically shaved off their hair to denote coming-of-age. Women in India historically have signified adulthood by switching from wearing two braids to one. Among the Rendille of north-eastern Kenya and the Tchikrin people of the Brazilian rainforest, both men and women shave their heads after the death of a close family member. When a man died in ancient Greece, his wife cut off her hair and buried it with him, and in Hindu families, the chief mourner is expected to shave his or her head 3 days after the death.
these are genuine have just registered them with ghd don't believe the reviews that say they aren't. If the seller is amazon then they are genuine
This styler really works I can curl or straighten with it and the style holds all day without hairspray.
This is a great styler according to my girlfriend. I purchased this styles on amazon because it was cheaper than through other outlets such as sephora. After reading some comments I was concerned that this may be a knock off brand of the ghd classic styles but was relieved that I could register the product on the ghd website as well as check via the checklist of genuine product traits that someone else nicely posted. I bought this through amazon and deva concepts dropship and recommend you do the same.
Bought these on the recommendation of nearly every female I know and I haven't been disappointed they arrived promptly well wrapped and I checked them on the official ghd site straight away. I have had sleek straight hair ever since...... They heat up quickly and the flashing light is a great guide to help remind to switch them off. A great price too considering most pairs I've seen are well over 100 quid.
I was nervous after reading some reviews that others received a fake ghd. I had no problem registering this on their website and it looks identical to my old model which I bought for double the price four years ago.
If you are unsure what exactly your hair type is (or if it has changed over the years, which happens more often than you’d think!), check out this incredible overview by the hair professionals at Redken! Don’t stress if you have combination hair (i.e., fine and curly or thin and straight) either; we recommend choosing a hair straightener based on your biggest hair complaint and focusing on that problem first. So, if your curls are driving your nuts, you will want to select a hair straightener with higher temperatures, thin hair needs moisture, etc. You’ll find that your entire hair type can usually benefit from the extra TLC!
I had some concern that this iron was counterfeit. I had purchased knockoff chi irons unbeknownst to me on this site before. Fortunately as I found ghd has a verification tool on their site. Take the time to register your iron there to make sure it's not a fake ... As far as the iron itself it is a sturdy quality iron that heats up lightning fast. It even has a beep to let you know it's ready to go. I especially love the 30 minute automatic shut off feature a must for forgetful people like me
The nano ceramic plates in this straightener deliver far-infrared heat, a gentler alternative in and of itself. As if that weren't enough, there's also a reservoir where you can pour in some of the (included) argan treatment and thermal protectant, creating a conditioning steam that will strengthen and safeguard strands while you straighten. Admittedly an extra step, sure, but one that's well worth it.
In March 2013, ghd launched the "Eclipse" hair straightener, which uses six sensors in the plates to maintain a constant heat of 185 degrees celsius, a temperature ghd claims is the optimum temperature for styling results. The consistent temperature reduces the time to style hair, particularly coarse hair that may previously taken multiple run throughs. The Daily Mail called the Eclipse "The Rolls-Royce of irons".
In the early 19th century the male beard, and also moustaches and sideburns, made a strong reappearance, associated with the Romantic movement, and all remained very common until the 1890s, after which younger men ceased to wear them, with World War I, when the majority of men in many countries saw military service, finally despatching the full beard except for older men retaining the styles of their youth, and those affecting a Bohemian look. The short military-style moustache remained popular.
Fine or thinning hair can easily become damaged under too much heat, so cooler temperatures (i.e., those under 300° F) are ideal for these hair types. If you have very curly, course, or thick hair, then higher temperatures upwards of 400° F may be more suitable to your needs. With the ISA Professional Titanium Flat Iron, you can cool it down to 265° F if need be and also crank it up to a whopping 450° F for textured styled.
ghd styler is the best. Had it for years
wife luvs em ghds are the best in her opinion.
