To achieve stunning curls: Mist hair with GHD Heat Protect Spray (sold separately). Section the hair and lightly mist with a Curl Hold Spray (sold separately) to add shine and hold when styling. Place a fine section of hair between the plates of your GHD Professional Styler vertically one inch away from the root. Gently close the styler with minimum tension. Turn the styler clockwise by 90 degrees. For an intense stunning curl, continue to turn the styler by another 90 degrees as you glide from root to end; pull the styler very slowly away from the head in a continuous smooth movement. For a softer curl, pull the styler quickly through the hair away from the head in one continuous smooth movement. An S-shaped vertical curl is created. To complete the style, repeat through all sections. Finally, separate and brush out the curls with your fingers for more extreme curls, or with a wide-tooth comb for soft, loose waves.
Inferior hair straighteners take a very long time to heat, and you really need to make sure that they’re on their highest setting to have any effect. But that means getting lots of split ends, and you hair often looks frizzy, dry, and generally unhealthy. And once you go outside, if ever you live in an area that’s a bit humid the straight hair quickly goes to its default pouf settings.
Upon learning about the new ghd Gold, one question quickly came to mind when the intrigue settled down — how does the new product stack up against ghd’s other models? If you’re a longtime fan of the brand, you will have seen numerous stylers hit the market to rave reviews, so it can get a little confusing when it comes down to making that big choice.
Top stylists, models and celebrities alike can’t live without their ghds, so you know you’re in good company when you add to your collection. Whether using your ghd styler to tame frizz for a day at your desk, or to curl locks for a night out on the town, ghd not only allows you to straighten your hair, but also twist, curl, flick, wave and bounce too. With ghd, the possibilities are endless.
We’ll admit, the $150 price tag did give us pause, but when it comes to applying high heat to our hair, we want to make sure the styling process is as quick and snag-free as possible. While a lower quality tool may save your budget in the short term, if its mechanics aren’t up to par it could require a few extra passes over your hair, which can wind up damaging your strands in the long run. With the GHD Classic Styler all you need is a quick glide in order to achieve perfectly smooth hair. The thin, rounded barrel even makes it ideal for mastering those loose waves you’ve been dreaming of.
Looked around at new ones, checked reviews and other ghd models and decided (based on price mainly) that I would just buy the same ‘original’ one again. It’s great. Better results- smooth and straight with little effort - and quicker heat up than my old one - extremely quick. Much cheaper than the fancier models. Slim and easy to store away. Glad I went for this again.
Dual-Zone Technology: You will have heard of Tri-Zone Technology if you own a ghd Platinum Styler, so think of Dual-Zone Technology as its little sister. Instead of three heated regions, this styler features two, one towards the tip of the styler and another closer to the base. This essentially means the straightener has better control over the way it heats your hair, instead of over-delivering in one area and lacking in another. Think quicker styling and a more uniform look in terms of sleekness and smoothness.
